How about a story from when I was in army cadets?

ok then..... there were many funny things that happened while I was in the cadets but this is the story I remember the most... almost feels like yesterday.....   Anyhow, this was around 2009-2010 and I had gone on a trip with the cadets called Annual camp. It was 10 days on a big military base near the coast, they had trips like this all the time but they were usually over the weekend.. So are story takes place a couple of days into the trip.... when we had to leave our barracks to go on an expedition..... (it was NOT fun)

So, we left the base in a minibus and were driven deep into a massive forest, and we had guns!.... sadly tho we had no ammo   any way,  we had to lie on the ground near the bus and protect it.... from nature? I don't know.. we lay on the ground for about half an hour, and only two things happened in that period of time.... 1 a big millitry truck pulled up near us and my friend Smith said it could be the enemy... and 2 my friend got told off for accidently pushing the barrel of his rifle into the ground thus filling it with mud (I also made this mistake, lukily no one noticed) also there were stinging nettles and thorns all arcoss the forest floor so we got stung constantly!

Good thing we don't have these around here, seems pretty boring laying around with an empty gun. Poor thing, you couldn't even shoot yourself in the face from boredom. (Don't do that actually.)

After what felt like a year, we were finally allowed to get up.. our lieutenant who was highest in command at the time, took us on a patrol... well you could call it a patrol, I just thought of it as walking around, tripping over thrones and holding a gun looking for enemy's who don't exist....

we walked pretty much in a circle for an hour, then we found a place to set up camp... this was where things would start to get interesting.....
