Alka sighed softly. "Gets boring from time to time. Being immortal really removed a lot of what made being mortal so good. Sure. Can't die a second time while I'm up there. But, death is both bitter and sweet in the end." He chuckled and smiled. "But yeah. Same old same old. Get told every now and again when I need to move stars, when I need to restore order... And sometimes I can take holidays... And, quite literally, feel alive again."

"Hmm... sounds nice," Clare replied. "Being immortal can be a pain, can't it? I mean... I can still die, but if no one kills me or anything..." The wolf blushed and grinned. "Um... Would you like to get some drinks?"

Alka shrugged. "Why not? I'm pretty sure both my stomach and liver can handle anything at this point." The wolf grinned as he lightly kissed Clare's nose and took her right paw in his. The paw felt odd however. Like it was completely mummified.

Clare flushed a bit and got a confused look on her face, then grinned. "I was thinking more like soda or water, but if you want to drink alcohol go ahead," she said, swishing her tail. "As for me... Well, you know what a lightweight I am."

Alka smiled softly. "Yes I do, and that's why I said stomach as well. Anyway, you can lead me inside. Maybe talk about what you've been up to since I left."

Clare nodded and pushed the door open, glancing back at Alka. "Sure thing," she said. "Heh... I think I'll take some soda, at least. I'd prefer to risk my body over my mind." The wolf patted her stomach with her free hand and grinned.

He followed after, remaining quiet for the mean time, taking in his surroundings. He smiled softly, keeping a gentle grip on Clare's paw.

Reaching the serving area, Clare led Alka behind the counter. "So, it's your first time on Earth for a while," she said. "What will it be?"

Alka thought for a moment. "I think I'll just take it easy to start with. A cup of water will be fine."

"Alright... I think I'll join you in that," Clare replied, using her free hand to prepare two cups of water. "Would you like ice?"

Alka shook his head. "Lukewarm is perfectly fine."

Clare handed Alka one of the cups, then picked the other up herself. "Cheers," she said, grinning and raising the glass.

Alka smiled and did the same, before slowly drinking the water and sighing afterwards. "Kinda forgot what it tasted like, if I have to be honest."
