You can get diabetes from too much sugar. Type II anyway. Though as a Type I I resent that. You're not really a diabetic if you just have an insulin resistance and can cure it by eating better. Now, the ones that can't cure it and need an amount of insulin, that's different. But I'll tell you what. I will GLADLY trade my non-working pancreas for your slightly used but still functioning one. If the doctor told me "eat better and exercise every day and you'll cure your diabetes," one thing is certain. I'd be at the gym ever bloody day, eating light salads and carrots.

I am a little. I had no idea! I'm reminded of Scrubs yet again. DBFF. Diabetic Best Friends Forever! XD I've been looking for the old pictures for forever. But I was he first poster child for the Walk for the Cure many years ago. And the quote "Doabetes steals the magic of childhood" that JDRF uses was a quote from my mom. And the first commercial for Barbara Davis Center with the little kid in the toy brick house? *waves* I was the kid that told the doctor he couldn't come in because he gives me shots. XD
