tips on furfeet and hands?
« on: February 18, 2016, 01:36:24 AM »
The current suit I'm making (it's only a partial, since it's a cosplay, really. The one I WANT to make of my actual fursona is a while down the road) - anyway, the suit I'm making needs fursuit feet. They just need to be plain and white, so I was wondering if anyone had any particular tips on making quick and easy feet, or if there were any shops that I could buy from that you lot might be able to suggest?

Just realized that I had a semi-related post already in this board. But this is specifically about the hands and feet. Hope that's different enough.

I have recently made both fursuit paws and feet, and they turned out amazingly good!

I made them both by following a video (although I added a lot of other things for my self), and the base turned out to be really good!

But you only need feet, so here's the video I watched:

I think it's the quickest, simplest and the best way in my opinion of making some feet. it only took me 1 full day (around 20 hours) to make both feet :3

I hope this helped, and good luck ;)

Ohhhh, awesome! Thanks very much! I'll see about getting to work on that soon. That looks pretty simple, but also good for sure!

I'm cheating on my first fursuit, but DreamVisionCreations sells foam feet already carved https://www.etsy.com/shop/DreamVisionCreations?section_id=14875986&ref=shopsection_leftnav_9
If that's what you're asking. Otherwise, if you just wanted to make a 'glove' for both your hands and feet, make a duct tape pattern for your feet and allow for seam allowance, and for your hands, just trace around.
Since you said white fur, you might want to use some white mat material for the bottoms of the feet if you want an easier time to clean. Like the sols of shoes. Some people use those huge puzzle playmats from Elementary school gym to create the bottoms of their feet :)

Oh! Wow, I never saw those! That would be a huge help for this partial.

I did too, until I decided to see what foam things they offered XD
It's pretty smelly though, if you have a low fume tolerance keep a window open :)
I had to cut off some of it to fit my shoes, but they give a general shape to put the toes of the shoes in!
