*** UNSC Strident, Unknown Planet ***
"Easy," Alduah cautioned Jade. "He's right. That's how typical Sith operated in the past. Fortunately for the lot of you, neither my apprentice nor myself is a typical Sith. Our main reason for staying under the Radar is because of the bad rep Sith have. But I am not the one who brought the ships down on this planet. I would gain nothing from it. I want nothing more than to escape this planet and its horrors." Alduah indicated Jade. "She'd have much more reason than I to get off-world." His next aside was directed at Jade. "And to answer your question, madame - I got in through a hull breach on the dorsal surface of the ships. That's when I met the surviving crew."
"You mentioned an apprentice," Zuka said, keeping his weapon leveled at Alduah. "Where is she?"
Alduah shrugged. "By now? Probably looking for me on Ruusan. Who can say? But I want to get off-world and meet up with her. We were going to investigate something on Ruusan that had cropped up, hopefully before the Sith Covenant get there."
"I'm surprised you're not with the Sith Covenant," the female Spartan commented.
"I despise them as much as anyone else," Alduah said. "And they have something of mine, which makes that personal. That being said, even if they didn't, I still wouldn't join them because they're little more than homicidal maniacs whose raw lust for power is more than a few steps above the Banished. Hell, Atriox looks even-tempered compared to that psychopath, Ravage."
Zuka thought this over, then lowered his weapon. "Stand down, everyone," he commanded. "I don't trust a Sith. I have no reason to, given your history. But Sith or not, if what you say is true, we will need you to get off-world. But consider your situation, Alduah - you try anything, you'll be answering to more than a few fully-automatic weapons."
"I understand," Alduah said. At that, the two Spartans lowered their weapons.
Weaver, far from the conversation, would have no trouble finding the armory - all he would have to do is follow the red line to the room marked by a red star and the word "Armory". Inside, there were several weapons scattered about. Two would stand out - an M7 Submachine gun, with it's high-capacity magazines firing 5x23mm Caseless rounds; and an M739 SAW, with an even higher-capacity drum magazine firing 7.62x51mm FMJ-AP rounds. Either would come in handy when facing the Flood, but if what Alduah said was true, the M739 would have a distinct advantage over stopping power. Scattered near both weapons were several loaded magazines.
*** Mongdrigan Camp, Dromund Kaas ***
"We trust them with our lives," Sebastian said confidently.
"We don't expect you to take our word; you can hear it from the mouth of Lord Malgus, when he returns," Bryce assured him.
*** Dreshdae Colony, Korriban ***
"What are Tal Shiar?" Vette called out over the combat.
"Long story, not enough time," Wrath responded, fully engaged with a Klingon and his Bat'leth.
*** Korriban Orbit ***
Cutting off the Tal Shiar's escape were a pair of Dragon Federation Tulwar-class Warbirds supported by four Mogai-class Warbirds. They all emitted a charged particle burst and revealed the fleeing Tal Shiar Warbirds, and immediately engaged them.
"Right on time," Malgus said with a grin, though this was hidden beneath his mask. He looked to Kyva. "Deploy the ground troops. Drive the intruders from Korriban."
*** NCD Galatae, Dragon'taan Orbit ***
"Right..." Vitani said, waving to the wolves. "Is there anyone else? Or is it just them and us?"
*** Indari Manor, Draco City, Dragon'taan ***
"Don't remind me..." Mathayus grumbled with a shake of his head.
"Oh, relax, daddy-oh," Maria laughed. "It'll be fine."
*** Terra, Mojave Desert, 2286, Enclave base Mojave Epsilon ***
"I thought Enclave base was at Raven Rock, outside DC. Or did they move?" Richard asked.
*** Corneria City Hospital, Corneria City ***
"It means that the Temple that drove Falco crazy is our next destination, or at least mine. After all, I wouldn't want to disappoint my great ancestor, would I?" K'Tath responded.
"Under different circumstances, I'd call you crazy," Fox commented. "But knowing you're Darth Nox's descendant... he might let you in."
*** RCS-Class Armored Warship Warspite, Ferengi Ship Salvage Yard ***
The Star Destroyer EMP attack posed no threat to Blythe's ships - they were EMP Hardened. Neither did the TIE Fighter Concussion Missile Attacks; they were but mere pinpricks against the Warspite's shields. But the Warspite did launch wings of Sabre-class Interceptors and T-65 X-Wings.
