(Nice outfit, Shoon.)
*** Windhelm, Skyrim ***
"The Tal Shiar?" Galmar asked. "Who are they?"
"The Romulan Empire's clandestine operations branch," Ulfric responded. "They operate in a similar fashion to the Blades."
"And if your Grand Admiral can get to the Stargate in time, he may prevent the Tal Shiar and Thalmor from attacking this place altogether," Vokun assured him.
"We still have to proceed as though he won't," Ulfric sighed. "Galmar - get word out: Prepare for battle."
*** Somewhere near the Stargate site ***
"How much further, Kammy?" Lokahviing asked. "The longer we take finding the Stargate, the more time the enemy has to open it and attack Windhelm... or somewhere else."
*** Transwarp Hub ***
"I wasn't referring to your ship," Lian clarified, "I was referring to you and your crew, if you have one. I'm thinking we all board the station for a Stealth Infiltration and Intelligence gathering operation."
"That'll be a bit difficult, dear, considering your size," James commented. Lian blushed, but responded,
"Now's not the time for that, James. Regardless, I know Remus and his crew can handle it - can you and whatever team you have get on-station undetected and gather intel? We'll need anything you can find - computer records, station schematics, communication logs... hell, even battle plans written on paper or otherwise, if you can find any of that."
*** Dragon'taan ***
"I didn't expect you all to know I was a Battlemaster for the Jedi Order before I came into service of the DMC... and... I am sensing a disturbance in the Force," Draco explained.
*** Outpost Sargasso ***
"I don't think that will be a problem," one of the Sangheili engineers said as he worked with one of the Prophets' hover-chairs. "All that'd be needed is some strength pushing these guys along. They're not exactly in any position to cause any trouble."
"On the contrary," spat the Prophet of Revenge. "We sent a message to our allies in the Tal Shiar - they'll have a fleet of ships here in seconds! They control a Transwarp Hub!"
"Tcha!" Markus scoffed over the radio, calling Revenge's bluff. "They'd have been here by now. Transwarp Technology isn't that slow, and leaves a nice little energy signature when a ship emerges, even cloaked. And if the Tal Shiar were in the area, they would have attacked by now, if they were stupid enough to challenge this task force. Face it, Prophet - your fleet is destroyed, your Mandalorian allies have turned on you, and there is no one left to listen to your delusional lies. For the second time in history, the backbone of the Covenant has been broken. You have lost. If you're lucky, you'll just get life in prison."
Revenge fell silent, and Vengeance and Retribution lowered their heads in evident defeat. A Sangheili NCO looked to Fayam. "Take your pick," She said, motioning her head to the three San'Shyuum Prophets. "We'll get the other two you don't."
*** DMCS Indari, Outpost Sargasso ***
Drake sat back in his chair listening to the conversation over the radio. He sensed no Romulans in the area, and sensors were detecting no cloaked ships. Drake smiled in victory. "Soon as we're done here, we can go home," he said. "And mister Revenge over there sounds like he's struggling with the concept that, after all these years, he's lost this fight. The Covenant will never again threaten anyone."
