Welp, I always liked dragons, but I thought of Fursonas as something as a goal that I want to be. So for the past couple years I've had four fursonas including this one.
So basically, I'm on a long journey to become who I want.

Thought about it a lot but have always stuck with a cat. Though lately I've been seriously considering changing my fursona.

I used to be a fox, but then I switched over to a griffon because I found that I liked griffons a lot more ^^

It was 10 years ago. I had a big interest in werewolves and didnt know about the fandom but I liked reading and writing stories about wolves and werewolves. Spike was a wolf originally from my most complete book Id written about a boy who escapes a prison camp and wanders alone in Nazi Germany. He encounters an injured wolf (Spike) and they endure a series of hardships together before one ends up dying for the other. When I heard about the fandom, I made Spike my fursona before he underwent a lot of changes. He was a wolf, then a fox, then a coyote as he is now. It took a while to figure out I didnt want to be a wolf, fox, or dog and Im a fan of Wiley Coyote. A good friend helped me draw up his design and hes the fursona I use today :P

I first started with a bunny furry with red arm tattoos depicting Angels on one arm with demons on the other. Then I looked at jasonafexs work (avoiding as much inappropriate stuff as possible). Then I switched to my current yellow  lizard fersona and kept the tattoos.

I spent a lot of time agonizing. Cat, coyote, kudu, tiger, deer, civet, etc. The list goes on. Then 'unicorn' slapped me across the face.

I chose a cat by default since I like them a lot anyway (and they're not very hard to draw...). I've been interested in elk/rams/other animals with horns or antlers as well though, or wings. Maybe I'll change my fursona into a hybrid someday if I really feel like it? But I don't want to get to crazy with animal mashups ^^'

I didn't really choose my fursona as much as it chose me. No matter what I do, I just feel such a strong connection with felines, I always wind up a cat.
Honestly, considering my birth place, where I"ve lived, and behavior/diet, I should be an opossum.

She started out as a tabby cat, then a skunk, and now it's kinda between a skunk and a cat with skunk markings.

I have my striped hyena as my main every so often.  I do have a few little side characters that I wouldn't exactly call my sona, but I like em.

I went with a bat, because I always felt strongly towards them. Not as simple as just "they're misunderstood", which no doubt they are. But I love how they function in their societies, as well as their roles in ecology and cultures worldwide.

Of course, their gothy awesomeness is always fun, but I genuinely always loved them for what they were. I've been a supporter of the Bat World Sanctuary for a while now. Honestly, it was my artist friend who got me into the furry world in the first place who brought it out of me. She did a doodle of me as a bat anthro, and it just rolled from there. I looked at it and thought "Woah! That's SO me."

Of course it was a basic start, but it all fit well, and everything fell into place.

The only thing that's not been a constant is a name!  XD

I love hearing all your stories. I've changed my fursona to a cat actually. It just feels right for me this time, the way I sleep, eat, and act matches up with a cat ^~^
