How to care for a parakeet? (Budgie)?

I just adopted 2... YAY ME! They are both male. One's name Is blue and the other unnamed.
Yeah, Blue is quirky and nervous, and unnamed is bold and playful. They are both blue colored.
So we have everything you need to care for them, also A big cage, just need some help caring for them. I know a few things but...
Just in case its good to know all you can!

Good luck taking care of them.

My grandma had 3 parakeets, very large cage as well, I know she would sing to them and they do the same back.
I did helped her out in a while changing the water and food was very hard
I can't ask her anymore since my grandma has moved on, and so have the 3 parakeets

Sorry I can't aid too much

Well, can you atleast give me some tips?
I pet Blue for the first time, he didn't seem to happy, and nipped me (not bite, it tickled).
My brother's bird is much better, and lets me pet him, will me and Blue ever get along?

aside from some basics don't know much.

newspaper underneath the cage made it a bit easier to clean, she would clean the cage every 2 weeks - replace the water every day
don't ask me how, since I was never there to watch
