What to do with Benny...

Sigh, I've had Benny for a long time, at least half a decade. I remember when I first made him in a Sonic Fursona Maker Program, and then I first put him on paper September 2009 in Happy Tree Friends Style. Over the years, I've watched Benny grow from a super sugary HTF style character to what he has been since 2015. I liked the character so much, I wrote a book about him and all his adventures.

...However, I wrote the book with the desire to publish it one day, but when I got feedback on the book's premise, people hated Benny, as they thought his species made no sense. And when I thought about it, I couldn't help but agree. There's no specific reason he's an Almiraj, I just thought it was a cool creature. So I decided to change his species into a giant rat.

...My problem isn't so much that I dislike Giant Rat Benny, but that I... actually like him more. I've had Almiraj Benny for so long, and yet I already have an attachment to Giant Rat Benny. The thing is, I really like bunnies and almiraj, but I adore rats more.

...And deep down I am tempted to replace Almiraj Benny entirely, but... My mom and my former boss like Almiraj Benny more. I don't know what to do with Almiraj Benny. I still want to use Almiraj Benny somehow, but I don't know what to do.

Just like when I get tired of something, it gets put in the closet until I want to use it again. That doesn't mean get rid of it.

You can have multiple characters or sonas, it doesn't have to always be just one. Almiraj will always be yours, that doesn't mean Rat Benny has to replace it forever.

You'll think of something for Almiraj in time.
