Any Medieval Furs?
« on: July 26, 2016, 02:03:30 AM »
Seems like most people's fursonas have a modern or futuristic setting. Does anyone else have a fursona or other characters with an ancient, medieval, or renaissance setting?

Huzzah! My fursona was created out of my love for the fantasy medieval and Egyptian lore. He is High King, ruler of the continent of Furgasta. The setting of my world is medieval high fantasy, ripe with magic, the Egyptian pantheon, angels, demons and the 8 Virtues from the Ultima series.

Good morrow all!

Ancient Egypt is a great source to base an anthro world on, given all their animal-headed gods.

My fursonas' world is medieval fantasy as well. It started out very European, but lately I've been incorporating a lot more Indian and middle eastern influence into the aesthetic.

The original story for Nori was that she was a spirit talker in medieval Scotland/Ireland (haven't decided which)!!
I had an RP going on for a little bit (Plains of an Old Age) but it petered off, since people who said they'd join in never did.

Oh my gosh yes! I don't like making a story for my fursona, but I absolutely adore roleplaying in a medieval setting. I haven't found many people who enjoy it though  :'(

This might be Off topic but this is just something I've observed: it's interesting how much non-Europeans are interested in the medieval times and RP's whilst Europeans aren't that fanatic or interested at such a scale

It probably has something to do with people finding exotic/unfamiliar things more interesting, a "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence," thing. For my part, I don't find American history very exciting, because that's my backyard.

I could pretty much apply that to me: in the city where I study there is a castle smack middle of the city and where I love there is a castle +- 17KM away from me...

Not strictly medieval, but partially based in medieval fantasy. It is more jarring to me for some reason to entertain the idea of my having a fursona set in a modern or futuristic setting.

Well, My fursona is a nice and 'rich' gentleman. Owning a nice suit, a top hat and a royal dragon-headed walking cane. Compare it to a baron or something. Well, untill he gathers enough cursed souls and unleashes the power of Marzhalk's bloodthirster. Which can absorb all blood found in his victim. Well, I can't tell ya everything in detail because it's not really clean. ^^'  But I can tell you what cursed souls are. Cursed souls are creatures who are influenced by a specific type of dark magic. When killed, Argrath will trap the souls into his heart. Marzhalk's Bloodthirster is just an ordinairy steel sword until he reaches a certain amount of souls. Though, I don't have any art/story of him like this yet XD  He's just a weird dragon now.  XP
