Chapter Zero-Cold Shoulder

I remember that day like it was yesterday, the cold crawled up my back like a blanket. The wind felt like a wolf scratching at my face as I traveled along the mountain path. Snow covered the ground and the nearby trees, it was far to deep to travel in but I had no other choice. I either died in this frozen wasteland or try to get out and maybe live.

The snow fell harder as time past, my horse shivered. I copied it's motions as the cold swept across my body. Who knew something so magnificent as a child would turn into such a monster once you grew up.

"Jesus Christ! Get moving before the storm gets closer!" Is all I could hear in the distances, it seemed like I wasn't the only person alive in this frozen hell.

I moved my way ever so slowly towards the sound, my horse moving at the speed of molasses. When I saw them I put my hand on my revolver and just watched. It was a short black wolf, and a rather burly black bear, they seemed to have no transportation other then their own two feet. I called out to them.

"Excuse me! Do you know where the nearest form of shelter is?"

The wolf turned around and aimed his rifle at me, "Who are you!?"

"My name is..." I stopped myself from saying my real name, people in these parts knew the name Bailey Stowe. I was an infamous outlaw that robbed trains and stagecoaches. I quickly replied, "Well mister. My name is, Oswald Georgia."

The wolf kept his rifle aimed at me, "Oswald... Georgia?" I responded, "Yes, That's my name don't wear it out."

The bear pulled his revolver out and aimed it at me, "Listen here Oswald! You come any closer, and I'll a bullet between your eyes!"

"We are in this together, I'm not going to do anything rash or hostile. Now please, lower your weapons." I said with the up most sincerity.

The wolf and bear lowered there weapons. "Well Oswald, the nearest form of shelter is just up this road. Just a small log cabin."

A smile crept over my face, I gave them a friendly gesture to lead on.
