Ray blinked, shook his head, and charged the slavers. I can't believe I'm doing this. He drew his saber, and slashed one of the slavers across the heels, drew his pistol and brandished it at the second slaver. "Drop the girl."

The slaver raised his hands.
"What are you doing she is already..." He took a second look as Moka as she sweeped her mermaid tail at his legs, knocking him on his butt.


Quick as she could Moka tried to drag herself to the ocean, but having no legs and being in the middle of suffocating made her more or less helpless.

[Rayleonarde]

Ray rolled his eyes, and growled at the slaver. "Stay put." He then quickly scooped up Moka, and carried her to the ocean.

[Tina]

Moka struggled at first but seeing were she was going she calmed down. Her gills were burning from lack of oxygen but the water was so close that it filled her with the strength to hold on.


The slaver seeing that Ray was stealing their "merchandice", ducked for cover behind a barrel and blew his signal whistle to alert the guards.

Ray waded into the water, and tossed Moka in. "In y'go!"

Ray waded into the water, and tossed Moka in. "In y'go!"

As soon as Moka hit the water, she took a deep breath and felt alive again. She peared towards the surface and saw a patrol on its way to Ray's position. Looking out at the sea and then looking back at the armed to the teeth guards, Moka knew Ray wasn't getting out without help.


Moka cleared her throat and let out an entrancing song that froze the guards in their place so she could grab Ray and drag him into the water to escape.

Near the shore


A large group of British soldier's stood at attention. Weapons in front of them and the Union Jack flying high above them.


Bailey rode up near them on horse back. He looked down upon the and smiled? "Fine body of men we have." The officer that rode along side him replied, "British Grenadiers they are. Best of the best."


Bailey smiled and looked them down. "Good."

Ray found himself frozen in place, unable to move. Damn mermaids...she's gonna leave me for dead.

Moka seeing that her savior was having trouble breathing created an air bubble around Ray's head. She stopped singing and since she was in the water she could talk now.
"Sorry, didn't want those guards catching you. I may not know much about the surface, but I have seen slavers execute people that try to save us...or have them suffer the same fate."

Ray nodded. "Ah, thanks!" He offered his paw to shake. "I'm Ray."

Moka looked at the hand unsure of what to do. She saw other surface dwellers do it but didn't understand its meaning, but took the hand anyway.
"M-my name is Moka...anyway do you know where your floating dinner is?" Moka said pointing at the ships in the harbor.
