Final Fantasy X: what is Yunas necklace?

What is Yunas necklace? Seriously. It's got two bells on top and a flower petals on bottom. What's it supposed to be?



My older brother said it's based off female genitalia, but I feel like thats a bit of a stretch. Especially since the game never hints towards anything like that.

What do you guys think?
