Geoff was too far away to register Lacar's words; the panicking didn't help either. It sounded more like yelling to him, and it only shocked him to work harder. He continued toward the rocky hill, pulling up the side of a large, flat, heavy-looking rock -- it was chiseled thinner in the middle on the other side, making it light enough to lift easier. He slipped through, shutting the rock instantly.
The space was pitch black. Geoff panted as he carefully placed the dragon on some soft material, then fumbled around for the light. "... H-Hold on," he rasped.
He found a hockey-puck shaped device, pressing it down revealed it was a bright light of LEDs, enough to light the space up decent enough.
"There we go...!"
It was a cozy space, claw and shovel marks on the walls showed his effort to extend it. Mats covered the dirt floor, and a sleeping bag was at the side wall, on which he placed Raz. There were two extra blankets, two pillows, a chair and a worn table with a sketchbook, notebook, and art supplies. All the comforts he needed when the family and Inn patrons were too noisy.
Geoff slumped down next to Raz, panting heavily. He never ran so fast in his life! Adrenaline is a godsend.
He turned to look at the dragon with a gentle smile.
"... You okay, bud...?"
