Geoff giggled quietly. "Hehe, leave some for me, ya goof!"
He took a decent drink then hooked the canteen back on the bag.
"Alright, now let's get some nice sleep. We've got more walking to do tomorrow, then you'll be home before you know it."
Let go of the Canteen and snuggled up to Geoff as he slowly fell asleep
Draconos - Peak Ulrith - Dracon Palace
Draconos sat on his throne whilst a contracting crew fixed his throne room back to what it was before.
A large crowd had amassed before Draconos, yelling at Draconos for what he did in the infirmary, "Please, everyone! I am sorry for what I did, and I will send all of your loved ones who I have killed to the crystal chambers, and they shall be revived!", the crowd did die down, but one had to speak up, "And what if you go berserk again!?", the crowd roared again from this comment, "Then I'll banish myself...", "NO! If you go berserk again, we'll kill your son!", this made Draconos urk and he roared out, "IF YOU TOUCH MY CHILD I'LL... I'll have you thrown out of Ulrith... my child is the son of your savior! My late wife! Have you not forgotten what she did for this continent!?", the crowd died down, to a soft murmur, "Yes... I remember... but we, I fear that if you've gone berserk like you did, we fear that your son may too...", "He won't... he may share my visage, but he carries my wife's soul of kindness and endurance... now please.... leave my throne room...", the crowd gave a subtle bow and made their way out of the room.
Draconos gave a hacking cough as the citizens left the room, looking at his paw to see blood, and one of the guards that stood beside him saw this, "My lord, we need to get you...", Draconos cut him off, "No!... no... I'll be fine... just go get me some of the fruit that sits atop the peak... on the tree above my wife's grave... quickly now...", Draconos gave another cough, no blood this time, but there was a speck of purple, "Mother **censor**-...", Draconos knew what this is, it is the illness he bares, the reason he went berserk is because of a demon that hides within.
(Some backstory about Draconos after here... you all may want to read... but no meta playing~ Our gods can sense it, but cannot be certain without proof)Years ago, when Draconos had almost died, a small purple imp came to Draconos on his death bed, and it told him that if he wanted to live and win the war, then he would have to let the demon become a section of him. The demon however didn't guarantee his win, as there was a peaceful negotiation to the end of the war.
Years past and when he bared eyes on his son, so did the demon, and at that, the demon got a plan, a plan that would take Draconos to the grave and leave his son fatherless, and right now was when the demon was acting, by inflicting a slow acting cancer upon Draconos, Draconos however knew of a fruit, one that not many know about, one that the gods once harvested from, one that granted temporary immortality, or at least a limited invincibility. One bite allows 1 week of immortality, 2 bites means 1 month, 3 bites means 3 months, and 4 bites means death, and this is all from one fruit.
The tree was planted by the 4 horsemen as a loophole for when they would cause havoc on this plane, as they could only have a limited time... the final bite would send them back to where they came from, but the tree kept growing until it became visible to mortals, breaking into the mortal dimension of reality, and that was the day after Draconos's wife died and was buried.
Draconos knows this all as the first fruit he ate gave him the knowledge to know this. He shared this with the head monk, Ronnie, and Marine. Marine advised him to never eat the fruit again, but she knew why he ever had to again. She knew about the demon within. She knew it would one day kill him... which is why he granted her the honor of guardian to her, she tried to refuse, but Draconos refused to let her to, believing that Raz would see her as a mother figure if Draconos died.
