This is a story. A story of death, of revenge, and of deep sadness. A story of an orphaned young fox's fight for survival. And a story of how that fox found great power in the midst of tragedy.
This is the story of Foxi Kitsune Ravenheart, and how she came to be who she is today.

-Chapter One-

"Happy birthday, dear Foxi! Happy birthday to you!" It was a dark and peaceful night, perfect for a birthday celebration at home after an action-packed day out. Two foxes, though certainly not pure-blooded for their retractable claws and short muzzles, watched happily as the small kit in the chair before them blew out the candles on her cake-- a chocolate ice cream cake, to be exact. Young Foxi Ravenheart was joyfully celebrating her sixth birthday alongside her loving parents. "Ready to open your presents?" Foxi's mother, a beautiful catfox with silver-and-white fur, brilliant blue eyes and stripes to match asked her excited kit. "Of course I am!" Foxi replied eagerly, her short, stubby tail wagging. Grinning, her father brought a brightly-wrapped gift over (after all, the Ravenhearts didn't have much money to spend), and set it down for his daughter. Foxi quickly opened the gift to find a tiny little kitten, dark brown with pink and white markings and bright blue eyes. "Aww, he's adorable!" the little catfox cheered. "I love him!" Both of her parents smiled. "What will you name him?" her mother asked. "Hmm... his eyes are blue, just like the sky. How about Ciel?" Foxi replied. "It's a beautiful name," her father agreed, and her mother nodded approval. "This is the best birthday ever," Foxi whispered, before letting out a small yawn. "It's getting pretty late. I think we should get some sleep, don't you?" Foxi's father asked. Foxi nodded sleepily, her eyes beginning to close. Her parents carried her up to her room, laying her in her bed and covering her with the blanket. "Goodnight, little Foxi," her mother whispered. "Sweet dreams," her father added, and they quietly walked out and closed the door. Foxi smiled as she began to drift off to sleep. "This is the best birthday ever..."
