Bad Driver Shaming
« on: December 13, 2016, 11:59:38 PM »

See somebody do something stupid and dangerous on the way to work today? Got a friend that texts and drives? Do you text and drive? If you do then screw you.  because we are about to talk about bad drivers, and to be fair if I make any mistakes on the road I'll tell you about them.

To start off I comute to a city with the worst drivers EVER. every day I will see at least 1 person on there phone. Prius's doing 10 under the speed limit in the fast lane cuz they don't care.  >:(

I'm going to post every day I can with out double posting with probably daily bad driver reports. should be getting a new dash cam soon, and posting to a new youtube channel I just started that's going to be just this until I get a fur head and then do other rants.

BUT UNTIL THEN RANT ABOUT BAD DRIVERS, AND WE CAN ALL SHAMELESSLY SHAME THEM FOR BEING SHAMEFULL.

I see plenty of bad drivers out there.
I have to drive almost 40 minutes to get to work, so I will see plenty of bad drivers too, and many accidents too

couple of cars cut me off to get quicker to their destination

almost hitting a pickup truck since it suddenly changed lanes without signalling to reach it's exit, was within inches of hitting it

I did one thing wrong myself, got a Skype message while I was sitting at a red light and decided to read it, didn't know the light turned green in front of me until I got honked at  XD

good luck without double posting, not sure how many will reply here

It's a normal thing here, I'm not even surprised. The worst kind of driver is the one who tries to cut me off, while there's another car on the opposite lane. Sometimes they barely squeeze through. It sure can get your adrenaline pumping, because if they'll crash then you'll probably join them too.
They could simply leave their house earlier and drive like a sane person, instead of risking a crash and dying a horrible death.

There's always THIS guy who forgets about turn signals and expects everyone to have some magical mind reading powers. They often suddenly stop before hitting a pedestrian or another car.

To be honest I'm more angry at pedestrians who cross the road without looking to the sides and staring at their cell phone. They're like zombies, completely careless. But they sure are surprised as hell when you honk at them.

Now the most infuriating thing - people who try to park by squeezing into tiny little space between two other cars. There are some narrow roads here with a parking lot on the side, and this dude or chick goes forward-reverse-forward-reverse-forward-reverse for 10 or 20 minutes. It happened only a few times, but I wish I could just ram them.

Hmm... in my town, there's a small hill. And when it's a red light and there's ten cars on that road I can swear all of them are looking at their phones. x.x

Driving truck to pay the bills (18 wheeler).. the things I've seen scare the carp out of me. Stuck in 10 mph stop and go traffic beside a guy watching a video on his phone. way too many on phones. Had one guy driving a rental van using a laptop while his wife sat in the passenger seat doing nothing until I honked the airhorn, then she took the laptop away from him.

WAY too much to post about... makes me want to move someplace where rush hour is 5 cars waiting for a turtle in the road!

The police here issued 31 fines in 90 minutes in the CBD for drivers on their phones.

If people only risked their own lives I'd say "fine, good luck with that", but sadly it's always the innocent who come off worse.
It's not complicated, driving is not a right, it's a privilege that you earn.  I don't normally take a punitive stance and think harsher penalties will solve problems, but suspending peoples licenses would be my preferred option.

But aside from deadly drivers, what really grinds my gears:

When two lanes have to merge and there is traffic congestion, so the target lane backs up for ever and most people merge and slowly take their turn through the bottleneck.  But there is always a few people who want to drive past the hundreds of other cars in the now empty lane only to try and push in.  What the **censor**?  Did you not see the mile long queue?  Did you just imagine nobody else noticed that big ol' empty lane?  Are you just more important than everyone else?  I honestly would love to know what is going on in their heads.

A friend told me about a time this happened to him and so the car in front of him (an F150) just drifted far enough into the clear lane to stop anyone getting past and my friend left the gap open in front of him for the F150.  Apparently the people trying to push in got furious and were honking and trying to get past.  I don't really endorse roadrage and vigilantism, but I had to applaud the gesture.
