Looking at the placement of ears on a real fox head might help with that
as john red beard was saying break it down into basic shapes. fox ears (depending on the fox) are normally just squat triangles situated on the upper/ side of the head

I need help as well! I've tried to draw two furry pictures already but I'm really lacking the whole art background. Here's my avatar at the present moment and it's my first attempt. I really need some advice when it comes to shading and coloring furrys. I don't have photoshop or a tablet to draw a digital furry, so I'm stuck with paper and pencil/colored pencils at the moment. I have used pictures and some youtube tutorials so far.
