So some weird stuff happened :^/

Okay, first of, let me set this straight.
I think this is leading more towards the vent/rant side of things
I don't really need help, but
I just need to get this out to some people without framing anyone, if you see what I mean?

So
Stuff happened in my life, concerning furries o:


So, I was checking my school email one day, as you do, and find that I have a email from someone that I do not know
Upon opening this, I find that it says-
"Dont worry, you're not the only furry at school ^^"
They sent it through a furry account, using their fursona's name, but I didn't know who it was
Yeh
Strange.
But they had my school email, which only people in school know
SO
I safely concluded that they were in my school and yes.
Now, some questions came up-
a) who was this person?
b) how did they know my full name? (my name is very long and I'm called something shorter all of the time)
c) how did they know I was a furry?


So I emailed them back, like, kk, you know who I am, but I don't know you...? But it's cool to know there's another furry in the school.
And ye
We started talking through emails and stuff
But they never told me who they were, claiming they were too scared to do so.
I never gave out any personal info (I'm clever like that) and offered to draw their fursona some time (after I've finished all my other requests, welp)
And me and my friend (who is the only other furry in the school that I'm aware of) tried to figure out who they were.
The whole time we assumed that they were in our year
Little would I guess, they were actually a IT technician WORKING at our school.
So, I found this out... 2 days ago over a hangouts chat?
And I seriously didn't know what to think.
Like.
Wow.
Okay.
I was cool about it; they were obviously quite upset that I would go tell someone, but I said I would do nothing of the sort
And they were a really nice person, y'know?
I've seen them around my school, and they pointed out how they liked my drawings and stuff, and I would tell them about how I animate and la di da
Throughout the past week or so, they gave several hints to who they were, so it shouldn't really have been a suprise
But
idk 
It's weird
Like, they're pretty young and stuff
But
Society says that such things aren't really allowed.
They told me that if it got out, they would probably be fired, and I was like, oh god, no, we don't want that happening
So we stopped all communication and end of story


So really, I'm not sure why I'm writing this


I guess its because of the sheer awkwardness of it all
And how their job is at stake
I'm still not telling anyone, not even the friend who is a furry too (he's been bugging me loads to tell them, but I won't give in cx)
And it's just...
Like...
They could've been anyone
And I would've never guessed
There was never any negativity or anything. In fact, it was pretty nice, up until when we broke off cx Even then, we don't hate each other or anything. It was just too risky to keep talking


What would've you guys done in my situation?
Because I'm just keeping silent and pretending nothing happened
When I leave school, I may talk to them again, but hey

Hey Sailor!

I've read the whole thing, and I'll be honest here.
It really creeped me out when I read it. I would be creeped out in that situation. Especially after reading it apparently was a guy working at the IT department. It seems really... stalker-y.
Your full name, your e-mail. Maybe he knows even more, maybe he went into the school system (most likely) and found all that information (what about your home address, which I'm sure your school has as well).

Of course he would be afraid to lose his job. He should not have done that to begin with, and he was aware of this when he sent the e-mail and after he had sent it.
It's fine to reach out to someone. I'm sure he had his reasons (maybe it was because of your artwork and he suspected you were a furry, heard things, etc.), but that is no excuse in my opinion for this behaviour.
He could have reached out to you via your drawings. Just to name an example.
But this behaviour? I would put a huge NOPE stamp on it.

I personally would stay away from this person. In fact, I never would have replied to the first e-mail if I had those feelings that you had (which I probably also would have had).
I would have gone straight to the teacher/principle or whatever.

That's... all I can give you. My opinion and hopefully it's also helpful.
Of course you can take it or leave it, but be considerate for your own safety. Don't be 'too nice' or you yourself can get into trouble.

Yeah, I really don't know any more.
In all honesty, yes, I am just kinda ignoring them now.
I've blocked them everywhere, just in case, so there's that.
But yes
I managed to find out who they were through curiosity. After they tried to keep themselves secret, I made it my job to find out who they were
Which was really stupid of me
but
oh well


They probably know my name because there was this geography trip a while back and he came along
And I'm hoping if anything goes iffy, then there's the rest of the IT department who are there and I can point it out
And teachers
And stuff

And I'm prepared for anything and everything.

Yeah I agree with Ventus, if an IT technician at my school did that to me (especially emailing a school account with an external email) I'd probably go tell a teacher or someone. Yeah they may get fired, but would it really be that big a deal? They'd get fired for a reason; he could message another person who doesn't know as well as you do what to do, and that could be risky.


So basically, I'd report them, no matter how nice or friendly they seem cuz that behaviour to me sounds like he'd come pick you up in a white van or something illegal like that.


But anyways it's your call and you know better than we do, I'd just recommend telling someone about it due to the nature of it

The way he stalked you (finding your email, finding your full name and finding your furry life) is just too much..


If I was in your place honestly I would just tell him not to contact me anymore and never ever attempt to stalk me, nor my friends and that if he ever tries to do so I'll report him to get him fired..


I'd also do my research on this guy so I have more clues about who he actually is.


In case you still notice he is stalking you I'd suggest inform the headmaster of your school about him..

And I agree with you and got an idea from your post, Lumix.

I recall, Sailor, you mentioned a furry friend at school you have.
At least tell them. Just in case. So at least one person knows.
That would be my advice if you don't want to head to the teachers or anything.

I would advise to not go further into contact at all, whatever the situation. Or delve into it. Let authority and/or the school handle it. They know better what to do and you'd be kept out of harm's way.

Looking back on things
It was probably quite obvious how they found out I was a furry (The same day I got the email I had written a article about furries in society and stuff and was explaining to my other friends all day what furries were, welp)


We've talked a few times irl before too
And I know exactly who they are


They're no older than 20, looking at them, but idk
And they're a nice person, like, ye. just very shy, from what I've seen


But I'm keeping a lookout, just in case


Like I think I've said, I've been discussing this with my other friend and have been sending several screenshots to them, so I have plenty of evidence

Indeed, and I also want to add, as I forgot this earlier.


You don't know-know who he is. (Talking him for a bit doesn't mean you actually know the person, that aside he should not have approached you like this.)
For all you know he could have done this before or is doing this already to others. Maybe he already got into trouble before for this. Or maybe even for other things similar.

Be careful, is what we're all saying.
And tell someone (I mean besides your friend, preferably).

Nah, gender doesn't change a thing. Females are just as capable of stalking/preying on minors as males are.


I really don't think you should wait for any other signs, I think you should act on it now.  You could save someone else from going through the same thing

Well, there's just me thinking that a 19 year old wouldn't go stalk 15 year olds, but I guess it's possible
They're fairly new to the school. I've seen them over one and a bit years
idk how this will change anything at all. I need to stop defending them 



I think I may have been talking about my friend who is a furry, because they're a he, but I'm not sure. Possibly typo?
