Nothing in particular. For the most part, I listen to whatever I feel in the mood for, really - and sometimes inspiration may strike me then. It's a bit sporadic.

probably my grandma's home town - Leon, Guanajuato in Mexico


being in a different country than USA was fun for me, last time I was there, I was only 4 years old


exploring culture so different from us was fun
good thing I did know the language, so no issues at all

Are your languages based upon any real languages?

Not based on exactly, but I draw inspiration from real languages and borrow features from them. The one I'm working on now borrows word order and initial consonant mutations from the celtic languages. But it also does some fun weird things, notably marking tense on the nouns instead of the verbs.*


* There are some real languages that do that in a limited way, but it's super rare and I didn't know about them when I came up with it.
