Where do you get your inspiration from?

Partly from other fiction, both in terms of "That's cool. I want to do something like that," and in terms of "That could have been done better if..." So sometimes bad (or just not great) fiction can be as big an inspiration as good fiction.


I also get a lot of ideas from history. I read a lot about medieval history, mostly in Europe, but I've been trying to branch out my research into comparable eras of history from other parts of the world.

Thank you, I try not to post to much to my art thread to keep from spamming stuff.



That's another very difficult question simply because I don't really follow any particular artists so I really don't know my favorite.
There are quite a few people on DA that I really enjoy their sketches but I don't really think they'd be my favorite artist.
Although a style that I really enjoy is comics done by Jhonen Vasquez. I think his style really stands out and his comics intrigue me a lot.

Well thank you, I'm glad you'd be interested in seeing them.
I've always thought so, Its a very hard style for me to try and mimic, but I think it looks very cool and captures the feeling of what his comics are about very well.


Uhhh yeah a few different times. When I was in high school I did three or four pages of a comic called Just Sayin.' Recently I worked on reference sheets for a comic I wanted to do but I've simply lost the.... spark?

We very, very rarely watch movies here. Even so, I'm not good at picking favorites in anything. It'd be Blackhawk Down, The Patriot, Act of Valor, Lone Survivor, or Zootopia (I had to buy and secretly watch Zootopia myself, family doesn't know how awesome it is or that I've seen it)

Anything outdoors my property backs up to miles of state land so me and the puppy can walks all day back there

I know how to play the tcg, but I prefer to just collect the cards, they look to pretty, and I always keep them on display in my room

When it's done well (LotR, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter). Bad fantasy is painfully cringy (the DnD movies, anything by Uwe Boll).
