Rabid

[Blaiiine]

A blast and a scream, ending with a dull thud could be heard. Then pure silence, even the outside gunfire stopped.


Tyler slumped against the wall, his wound bleeding again from the recoil. The other intruder came rushing up the stairs, only to be blasted like his comrade.


"You...you can come out now...." Tyler weakly yelled, rapping his knuckles against the door.


Blaine had caused the end of the outside gunfire, finally being able to pin and neutralize the other raiders. He came out of the room and found Tyler, lifting him up and taking him back into the room with Kai and Holly.


"We're clear." Blaine stated, tossing the rifle and shotgun to the floor.

Holly shook her head, trying to clear the onslaught of numb darkness. "T-thank gosh." She said.


Kai sighed, she was gonna have to see about helping Tyler again. She walked to him, undoing the wrap around his shoulder. Re-studying the wound it looked about the same but torn open a little wider.

[Blaiiine]

"Sorry about that," Tyler sheepishly said, looking down at the floor. He winced as she checked the wound, doing his best to keep out of her way.


Blaine threw himself on the bed, next to Holly. "I'm really...really starting to hate people." He groaned before lighting a cigarette. He lit one for Holly and passed it to her.

"Me too." Holly said solemnly, taking a long and slow drag. She blew it out and winced,


Kai wrapped the cloth back over the wound, hoping it would hold okay.

[Blaiiine]

Tyler moved his shoulder a bit, the bandage staying in place. "Thanks," He said, nuzzling under Kai's chin.

She smiled, "Try to stay out of trouble for a bit." She said, tilting her head back slightly as she giggled.

[Blaiiine]

Blaine began snoring, having passed out from all the adrenaline. He rolled over and stopped, going to a quiet mumble.


"I'll try my best buuuuut trouble does find me," Tyler replied, laughing. Even with a bullet wound, she had a way of making him happy.

Holly sat, smoking. She pulled the cigarette from Blaine, wouldn't do to burn down the new place.


Kai smiled, "To be truthful, I'm not sure what trouble has with you." She said with a smile, looking up at him. She was shorter than him, not a lot, but she still had to look up to look him in the eyes.

[Blaiiine]

Tyler kissed her forehead before yawning loudly. "I'm literally about to pass out sooo.." He said before clearing a spot on the floor. Tossing a few blankets and pillows down, he kicked his boots off and laid down.


Sitting up, he patted the spot next to him. "Might as well all sleep in here. Probably safer than all being split up." He said before laying back down and checking his bandage.

She sat down next to Tyler, smiling. She wasn't going to sleep well if she did. But, at least she was with her sister and Tyler.

[Blaiiine]

He nuzzled up next to her, letting a content sigh escape.


"Good night, babe." He quietly said, quickly kissing her before laying down and passing out. His gun laid by his side, near the bed, for any emergency.

Kai sat, thinking over the day. Holly smiled, "At least your happy sis." She said.

[Blaiiine]

Blaine rolled back over, taking one of the throw blankets and going back to sleep.


Tyler was still passed out, occasionally wincing or smiling in his sleep.

Kai suddenly realized she had just been kissed, nuzzled and was sleeping next to Tyler. She managed to control herself, but she blushed. She couldn't stop that.

** Next Morning **


Tyler and Blaine had woken up before the other two, taking the free time as an opportunity to clear the bodies and wash off the days' worth of grime and blood.


Tyler could be found in the kitchen, the shepherd busy at cooking. His arm was still sore but manageable with some Ibuprofen. He was dressed in a red and black flannel button up, with some clean blue jeans and boots.


Blaine was outside, attempting to fortify the wrought iron fences. He was changed into a fresh white t-shirt, black drainpipe jeans and his old combat boots. His bat, now recently adorned with a barbwire wrapping, was laid up on a nearby tree.
