Holly laughed, "Best parting gift ever." She said as she ran towards the other side of the block and down the side of the small street towards the forest, looking back she could see the street was mostly empty other than a few bodies and the glint of glass. She turned back until realizing the glint of glass was pointed towards her. She swerved with Blaine into an alley, just in time for a loud bang to signal the explosion of shrapnel near them. A bullet had made a new hole in the wall near her head. It would have gotten her if she hadn't noticed. She sighed, "Geez, can't a woman get some peace while pushing a handicapped bear down a street in an apocalypse after raiding their base and killing their leader?" She asked sarcastically.
Kai stared him down, daring him to make a move towards them. Her hand slowly crept towards the pistol, closing her fingers around the grip and sliding her index into the pistol's trigger guard. The intruder didn't notice, but swept his coat back, pulling a pistol. Kai slowly pushed Tyler off of her, making sure not to wake him up and resting him back down on the sofa. She then stood, wheeling around and raising the pistol, aimed straight at the man's chest. "Put. It. Down." She quietly spoke as the man struggled to aim his pistol. He sighed and dropped it with a heavy thunk. She cocked the pistol and gestured for him to come closer. He did, his hands up, "J-just please don't kill me." he spoke with a soft voice, sounding like the typical jock. Kai nearly laughed. "Who do you work for. Farrow?" The man shook his head vigorously, "Who the **censor** is Farrow? I just came to see if there were survivors." Kai sighed. "Well you have you're answer." The man snickered, before realizing his situation once more. He then quickly ducked, pressing himself against the sofa and Kai shot in retaliation, narrowly missing him as he dropped to the sofa. The man then picked up his pistol and stood, firing off three shots. Two missed. One hit with a sickening noise, burrowing through her left arm and into her hip. She screamed and dropped to her knees in pain, shakily raising the pistol once more to the stranger's head. He aimed once more and pulled the trigger, the barrel pointed straight at her heart. But nothing happened other than a dull click. Kai spoke through clenched teeth, opting to clamp her hand over the bullet wound on her hip as her arm steadily dripped a puddle on the floor, soaking it with her blood. "D-Drop. The **censor** Gun." She tightened her finger around the trigger and the stranger dropped his, eyes wide with fear and his blood pumping with the realization that the woman on her knees before him was bleeding out because of him. All. Because. Of. Him. It was at this point he realized the Shepard on the couch, fast asleep. It occurred to him that he may have just murdered this fur's wife. With a shaky voice he pleaded "Please just don't kill me." Kai scoffed, "Why shouldn't I? You tried to kill me, and you may have succeeded." She said, equally shaky. Her mind was fogging and the edges of her view were beginning to blacken as more and more blood pooled beneath her, seeping up her pants.
