Blinking in confusion, Soran lay there; completely wiped out. His eyes were barely open and the cool metal around his neck calmed him, even though it was foreign to him. His fur lay flat against his skin as he shivered in anticipated fear. The icy tile under his paws sent ripples through his body. Tears trickled from his nearly closed eyelids as memories of what similar people had done to his pack swept over him. He howled in terror, a heart wrenching sound full of remorse, fear and hopelessness. He lifted his heavy muzzle to the ceiling, howling until he was hoarse. Then he coughed until he lay still, no movement nor breath visibly moving from his body. He did not know how long they would keep him here before the experiments would begin, or before he died of starvation.
