Ahhh, yes.  Like the ship of Theseus.


Despite the very strong arguments for it still be "me" in every way that I would actually care about, I can't beat the intuition that I would be destroyed and replaced by a damn impostor!


I mean, I could say the strongest counter argument is introducing the possibility of the teleporter generating two of me, in which case it seems mistaken to call them both me and since they begin as identical then if one isn't neither are, the truth is I just don't like the idea of the risk.

I'm a much bigger fan of spacecraft than teleporters, too.

Bending space and time to cheat the laws of physics by moving space around you, rather than yourself trough space, or visiting witch space, allowing you to travel faster than light sounds a lot more plausible than putting yourself into some magic box, and just popping up in an entirely diffirent point in space, in an instant.

But, if we're being realistic, the current race for automatisation might just allow the average citizen to CNC machine his / her own jet-powered aircraft, and just fly wherever they wanna go, themselves.

It's a really big dream of mine.

Be the first man to invent the FSD, in secrecy, and built a spaceship to travel to Mars, and place a replica viking longship wreck in a convenient place where some colonist or rover will run into it.
