Character Introduction
Full name: Leo Wintermane
Species: Human (Raised by a Lion Family, thus the Surname "Wintermane". Adopted at the age of eight, after being found near their front porch, in the middle of a storm.)
Initial dream: To find a place to fit in. Perhaps make new friends, raise a family, and just enjoy life at its fullest, and break out of his shell.
Background summary: Leo was never really one to fit in with society. Being the only human in his old hometown, he was often the target for bullies while growing up. Despite this, however, his younger brother, Edward, always had his back.
While all of the local stores couldn't hire him due to his unusual circumstances, he became a donor at an early age to the BDSR (Beastopian Department of Scientific Research), and as such, received a pretty nice amount of Gheo. Not millionaire standards, by any means, but definitely enough to help him get started in life.
At least once a month, he would donate a pint of blood to them for research on his unusual species, and they would in turn donate roughly about 700 Gheo. While it may seem like a lot to most, the fact that it's a monthly thing puts a pretty heavy strain on his finances. As such, he had to wait a few years after he turned 18 before he felt comfortable enough to move to Beastopia, where the BDSR rests. Maybe there, he could hope to find a job, or at the very least, help out around the place, doing odd jobs here and there.
While he's been trained by his parents and older sister in self-defense, relying on pressure points to pin a potential attacker down, he never truly needed to use such skills, and would rather play on his computer, a simple, yet sturdy laptop. He spent a bunch of his school time learning more about computers, from software programming to coding and (occasionally) hacking, though again, he never exercised those skills, nor did he have any need to do so.
Fast forward to today, and here he stands, 24 years old, right hand carrying his briefcase and his left hand firmly gripping the rail as the tram creaks, before coming to a slow, and steady stop.
As he steps out of the tram, and into the ID Station, he takes a deep breath... his first breath into this new city.
"Where luck is found..." he silently recalls to himself, quoting from a billboard to the massive walled city he saw right outside the entrance earlier. Relaxing on the chair in the waiting room, he gently sets the briefcase on the ground before him and folds his legs together, while giving the occasional stares a nervous smile and nod, followed by a wave of the hand.
"Next!" he hears the receptionist call out. "Number 1,243!"
Looking down at the ticket in his hand, it reads "1,423". Letting out a sigh, he slips his phone out of his pocket and begins going through the text messages he received from his family. He would smirk as his brother once more found his "True Love".
It reminds him of the time Edward decided to come out of the closet. His parents were shocked at first, but over time, they came to accept it. As for Leo, he told him that, while he'll ALWAYS be straight, he doesn't mind that his little brother is gay, as long as he doesn't drag him to that club he always visited, or cause too much racket if he ever brought a boyfriend home.
"Next! Number 1,423!" the Receptionist eventually calls out.
He smiles and nods his head before picking his small briefcase up and standing from the seat in the waiting room.
When the receptionist sees him, they look at him confusedly, before shrugging their shoulders and passing him an ID.
As he thanks the receptionist, he looks at it, and frowns slightly at the word "Primate" in his Species Label. However, seeing that they likely don't have a "Human" tag, he decides to just go with it, while mentally telling himself that he may very well just be an "ugly monkey", or something.
Finally, with all said and done, he makes his way through the quaint streets of Sterling Square, on his way towards the Apartment Complex, where hopefully, he can find a room available for rent.
(( I hope this is okay, and meets your standards! I've... never actually done a Forum-Based RP before... mostly just RP in Video Games, actually.
