The trainer checked the time of both and picked an eye. "Hm... For a pair o' wolves, that's a decent time. Ye sure did yer homework. I gotta warn ye that ye might be deployed anywhere. How 'bout we do some classic jobs? See how much the two of ye can deadlift." He led the two to the indoor gym and pointed at the dumbbells. "Ladies first, hm?"

Willa walks up to the dumbbell and puts on 100 kg, before preparing herself and lifting it successfully.

Wilco whistles to himself. "For a small girl, she's got some muscle." He chuckles.

The judge grumbled. "Hmpf. You keep up with it, eh? Very well- I know enough anyway.
Defendant Light Stone is sentenced with community service for 36 hours for the fake ID. However, you win the case- you will be placed with a foster until you're 18. Local authorities are going to look for a suitable home.
As for the prosecution... Mr. and mrs. Stone, you are each sentenced to a 750 Gheo fine and 72 hours community service. To top it off, both of you gain 1 year prison unconditionally and 1 year conditionally.
Alternatively, I have 2 years prison unconditionally and 1 conditionally, but without the fine and service... your call.
Last, both attorneys will get a final word to change the verdict. Wintermane, go ahead. You have 1 minute. After you finish, the prosecution gets 1 minute as well."

The trainer puffed. "Ye can lift alright... For a rookie, yer frickin' tuff. How 'bout ya, boy? Can ye keep up with miss 'ere?"

Wilco puts on 130 kg and deadlifts that.

"Alright, now we've got him on our side... but if I leave it to the Local Authorities to search for a Foster Family, that could still end with him having to move away from the Apartment Area, if he ends up in a Foster Home... however, there MIGHT be a way for me to secure his future... wait a second... of course!"



"Your Honor... The Defense believes that having the Local Authorities search for a Foster Home wouldn't be necessary, for there is already someone who can, without a doubt, take good care of him."

"In fact, the one I would suggest happens to be inside this very courtroom!"

"Should she agree with the idea, then I would like to request that, instead of troubling the Authorities to go through the process of searching though the whole city for a proper Foster Family, we have my Client move in with one of the closest connections he has, who is already verified to be of Legal Age!"


"The connection, of course, is the victim he was trying to defend from his parents... Mary Love!"

"After all, she does have a job, so food and utilities wouldn't be a problem.  And she lives close enough to his work place, that he wouldn't even have to search for a new job, and could keep his current one."

"This is what the Defense requests, Your Honor... however..."


"I also believe that it should be Mary Love's choice, in the end... however, should she refuse..."

"I can't just let him go into the Wilderness... he might not make it... I have to improvise!"

The judge clacked his tongue. "You're certain about this, attorney Wintermane. Witness Mary Love, do you agree with this proposition?" Mary shook up. She didn't expect this to happen. She reckoned Light wouldn't make too much trouble, so she replied, "Well, I'm willing to give it a try." The judge continued, "Then it's an agreement. We'll work out the papers. Now the prosecution has one minute defence time."

The trainer crossed his arms. "Heh. Looks like the lady is no match for ya. Maybe miss can lift more than she showed?" His eyes met Willa's. His question was posed more like a statement and it was clear what he was aiming at.

Willa sighs and walks over to the dumbbells. She picks them up and deadlifts them up, but can't hold them for long.

The trainer laughed. "I knew ye could! Don't worry 'bout that duration fer now. We'll get workin' on it. The dedication of ye two goes a long way, I can tell from experience. Now we'll get to the treadmill- I wanna see yer maximum sprinting speed."

They nod and follow the trainer.


"Sir, what speed will we start at?" Wilco asks.
