Ray seemed to grow distant, his eyes hazed over, as he stared towards nothing. "How that happened....How did that happen?" The raccoon's ears twitched, as a ringing filled his ears. He could see it clearly. An ill-placed candle, a mother's embrace. His tail sweeping side-to-side in happiness. The clatter of brass on wood, the roar of the flame. Then, silence. Ray shook his head as he looked back to Mary, an odd half-smile on hi lips. "Y'know I...I can't quite remember."
