30 is hardly old, but in internet years it's a little long in the tooth, and in furry years it's positively ancient!


So who else on the forum is over 30? What struggles (or joys) of our kind would the young 'uns not understand?

Thirty-three here... and joys/struggles that the younger generation wouldn't understand? Hrm. I'd say the quality (story-wise) and originality of TV shows and Movies nowadays does not feel the same as it did previously.

I am 34.  So this looks like my type of club.  Anyway, the younger generation would not understand patience.  That is why movies today are just quick bang-bang-bang.  There is no build up and suspense anymore or it is just considered boring.

I didn't realize you were over 30. You have a very youthful energy.


I also remember that movies used to take a LONG time to come out on video after they were in theaters. I'm sure it's partly because I was a kid and time ran more slowly then, but it felt like an eternity.

Yes! That was so frustrating! iTunes was a godsend when it launched, because ypu could finally just get the one or two good songs on an album.

Two TV channels.  Then you FINALLY get a third and it specialises in foreign language films and TV




Or when you can remember a few words from a song but not how it goes or anything else and you can't just Google it.

Cathode-Ray Tube Televisions/monitors that were about 10 pounds compared to current LCD/LED TV's that are now less than a third of the weight.

Just went to a flat screen a couple of months ago.. My RCA fat tube HD 40" did it's job for Many, many years... BUT it took two people to get it out of the house when it died!

Not sure if this was just me or not, but being smuggled into a drive-in movie under some blankets beneath the backseat.  Good times!

The drive-in closed when I was still young so I honestly don't know, but I wouldn't put it past my Mum to make something more adventurous like that just for fun!


Remember when bikes having gears was a big deal?  These days every damn bike has gears!  My old BMX only had one gear and if you wanted to go up a steep hill you stood up and worked your legs or got off and pushed
