'Strange..."
Sarah whispered out to herself as she sat on her bed examining the wound. The moments before she entered the appartement, she was convinced that she was going to have a hard time with the wound for having delayed from cleaning it for so long. But strangely, it seemed like the wound barely had anything in it at all, and was almost closed up from the inside entirely.
But after all the strange things that happened today, Sarah was completely exhausted, and didn't want to think, nor feel worried about it. The wound seemed to be much less worse than she'd expected, so she just decided to lie down in her bed.
She stretched out, and as she layed her head down on the soft pillow her eyes snapped shut and immense gulf of fear induced adrenaline washed over her body from the legs up, almost completely paralysing her. Suddenly, she was surrounded in dead silence. Her body rested on what felt like a thin quilt spreaded out over the cold metal floor from a vast, pitch black, empty space.
The only things breaking the ghastly silence were the sounds from the large metal structure violently shearing and creaking, hollowly echoeing troughout the space.
She felt terrified. Too scared to even move or open her eyes to see where she was. But luckily, after what felt like only half a minute, paralyzed in the prison that seemed to scare her soo much she couldn't even open her eyes and look at it, she awoke from the nightmare, panting heavily and drenched in sweat.
It was still dark outside, and only about 6 in the morning.
Still shook up from the nightmare, she rubbed her hands over her face for a few minutes before sitting upright on her bed. But as she got up, her foot bumped against something strange.
It was a weird, white, cylindrical object. About the size of a large knife. At the bottom, two mechanically extend arms where flipped downwards, flush with the bottom of the device, where a hypodermic needle portruded out of it. When she picked it up, the item felt sturdy, like metal, but not nearly as cold. And, strangely, very light. Weird, foreign looking symbols were printed all over it. Accompanied by illustrations that seemed to show safety caps being removed from the device, and a simple illustration of what looked like a person placing it on his leg.
As she stared at the needle, a feeling of shock shot trough her body as she felt a sharp, mildly stinging pain in her upper thigh. Nearly panicking, she dropped the device and started moving the fur on her leg out of the way, right on the spot where she felt the stinging.
And there. right there... She found a trace from a tiny puncture wound that went deep into her upper leg...
