Jayce took a seat on the nearest smooth rock, with Ray a stone’s throw away.
Jayce stared into the fire, slipping into a sort of sensitive trance.
After a while, Jayce’s phone rang. It was quiet, but the vibration is what got the raccoon’s attention. Jayce flipped his phone open and spoke.
“Hello?”

“Yeah, he’s here. Asleep.”

“I told ya I would. I’m fast, remember. Anyway. We’re headed for Michigan.”

“Yep. Good pay, too. Got a group of guys, too.”

“Alright, I’ll try. See ya.”
Jayce closed the phone and pocketed it, returning his attention to the fire.
