Non-sona character for fursuit?

So I really want to commission a suit of my main sona, Sid, but she's pretty complex and I'm afraid she just won't make a good suit no matter how much she's changed. She's a peach jackalope with a lot of subtle heart markings and gradients that would have to be removed. (Please excuse her terrible ref right now, I have an official one in progress!) My other option is a red panda character, Izzy, who I really love but don't really consider a sona.

Is my instinct about making Sid into a suit right or am I worrying too much? Would Izzy be a better suit? How do you all feel about having your only suit be different from your main sona? I'm only friends with like one suiter and I wanted to get opinions from other suiters. It feels like kind of a silly quandary, but it's driving me nuts. Thanks!
