Fursuit terms vs ears/tail terms
« on: August 30, 2020, 02:45:19 PM »
This is a weird one, but maybe you can help.

I'm a furry through and through. I love the art, I'm a feline soul, and my fursona is not a fursuit but I wear ears, tail, fangs, and a collar.I feel more like myself when wearing them.

BUT to some people when I tell them I'm a furry, and they see that I don't own a fursuit, they tell me that I'm not a furry as furries have fursuits.

This makes no sense to me...so I was wondering am I using a term wrong? Is there a special term for furries who don't suit but cosplay in the tail and ears/etc? To me it's just as valid, and my tail feels like ME, and I love the feel of wearing them...like taking OFF a costume and not putting one on. I'm dressing up as my fursona...that's still "furry", right, or is it something else?

Am I the only one who runs into this? <lol> It's kinda confusing...
