I'd read a very good book by a friend of mine, GamePopper (Tim Stoddard) called 'Furtannia: The History of the Furry Fandom in the United Kingdom', which covers what it says; it has a few mentions of the fandom in the 80's and 90's, if you are interested in that ^^ definitely worth the read. It's published by Uncle Bear Publishing, and can be found on Amazon
