To anyone who cares to look through my art thread:
If you don't know how to critique properly by giving constructive criticism, please keep your negative thoughts to yourself.
I put a lot of time and effort and care into my work. When an artist creates something out of his/her mind, it's often much like baring a piece of their soul to other people. And it's downright insulting when you can do nothing but say "you failed at it". I will not, now nor ever, claim to be perfect at what I do. But I do as much as my skills allow me to do, and I know I'm improving because of the work I put into it. I love hearing about different techniques that let me become better and faster at drawing, and I don't mind being given suggestions on how to improve my work.
But just telling me that the artwork fails in some way, is garbage. 80% of the time, if there's a flaw with the artwork, I've already seen it. It's just not fixed because I don't know how to fix it. Telling me something is wrong, is useless. Giving me suggestions, is helpful. You see the difference? I don't post my work just for people to tell me how bad it is, and I'm tired of hearing it. I'm not telling you to sugarcoat your words or to tell me I'm amazing or anything stupid like that. Just be constructive and polite and I'm okay with it.
...And if you have a problem with that - get out of my art thread.
