"Then again, I suppose this would be useful to a puny little kit fighting a big bad dragon." Renard smirked, walking to the library's main window. It looked down on the battle below, and the wolfs tail showed that he was enjoying the view. "Oh, very useful." Renard turned, and Shadow just had time to create an ice wall in front of him before the wolf sent a bolt of lightning at him.
"Clever, grounding the lightning... Maybe you weren't a complete failure as an apprentcie..." At that Shadow rushed the wolf, throwing fireballs to keep his former master in place. He lunged for the amulet, but Renard knocked him aside with ease. The feline landed on a desk near the window, rolled off, and got to his feet. "Then again, I could be wrong..." "You were wrong to cross me... You were wrong to banish me..." He rushed again, zig-zagging and once more hurling fire. Renard was about to knock him away when Shadow conjured a fireball between his former master and himself, and in the second the wolf pulled away he raked his claws across the wolfs chest. The wolf cried out and sent a bolt of lightning through Shadow, blasting him against a bookshelf. "You insolent whelp! I'm through toying with you! I hope you've-Aaahhhh!" Renard fell to a knee, clutching at where Shadow had scratched him. The wound was healed, but three streaks of green fire showed where the wounds had been. The same fire burned on Shadows claws, though it was slowly fading as he lay limp on the floor. "What!? What have you done, you-Gahh! I-I can't die! Not... Not like this..." The wolf fell to one side, his eyes fixed on where his former apprentice lay.
