The dragon snapped at him, Sime; did his best to dodge, what woud have been a decapitating snap f the jaw lost him an ear.  He screamed in pain and slammed a fist towards the ragons skull, its thick scales and thicker bone absorbd the blow. Silmel let hs concentration slip and fell once more, quickly grabbing onto the dragon before plumeting to his death. "You'll pay for what you did to my family!" He shouted over the rushing wind. The dragon looked at him and smiled.

"And you sshall pay for your fatherss crimesss againssst nature." It hissed in return, moving to shut its jaws around simels body oonce morw, the fox let go and let loos a concusive blast which tore apart one of the dragons wings. Both creatures plumeted to the earth below...

Shadow staggered to the window, pressing a palm to the glass. In his other hand he held the amulet Renard had worn. It had been created for Simel and enchanted by Renard, so he knew already it would not help him, but his heart sank when he saw the dragon plummeting to the earth with an orange speck on its back. Without thinking, Shadow cast one of Renards teleportation spells he had never quite perfected. Suddenly he was back in the square, near a shop of some sort. As he watched the final stretch of the dragons descent the world started to spin. He clutched the amulet and leaned against the wall of the shop, sliding down into a sitting position with the enchanted gem in his paws.

THe dragon landed with a ground shudderung thud, Simel screamed just before he hit the ground, realizing too late that he couldn't cast anything to save himself.

Shadow saw only one option. In a quick raise of one paw he created an ice spire on the squares paved ground. At its angle, it would replace Simels rapid decent and hopefully send him toward where Shadow lay.

Simel lay sprawled on the paving stones, his bofy broken. It hurt to breath, it hurt to see, everything was cold, so cold... He hears a voice, familiar, soft, a voice he loved as a youth, "Simel, hang on."

Shadow quickly locked the amulet around Simels neck, placing the foxes head in his lap. "Simel, hang on..." He looks to where the dragon had fallen, trying to summon whatever strength he had left if the beast was still alive. He had maybe a fireball or two at best, or a wall of ice to hold off the fire for a few moments. There was even a chance he could send Simel to Renards library, though that would likely kill him in his current condition.  "Just hang on..."

"Shadow..?" Simel groaned, feeling a heavy metal amulet strung about his neck. He screamed and arched his back, feeling a sharp spike of pain from where the amulet rested on his chest, a crimson stain seeped into his clothes, spreading from the amulet.

Shadow clutched the amulet, but did not remove it. Renard may have cursed it, but he was hardly the kind to plan his vengance to extend post mortem. Despite being a powerful mage, or perhaps because he was so powerful, the wolf had grown arrogant. Of late, all his plans ended with Shadow dead and the dragon locked in some sort of magic crystal, or something. There was no way he could have cursed it... Right?

"Shadow..." Simel croaked, "What did you do to me,,.?"  A crimson pool was spreading from the fox, even through his fur any could see that his skin was turning the grey of a dead man.

Shadow ripped off the amulet and cursed, not watching the jewel bounce on the pavement. He moves both paws above Simels chest and hods them there, using one of the few healing spells he knew. "Leave him out of this Renard..."

Shadow was out of options, his eyes clouding at Simels words. "Just... Just hang on, Simel... Please hang on..."

"Brother!" tidus rose to his feet and sprinted towards his fallen comrade. He slid to a knee upon reaching him and held him in his arms. "You'll be fine..." he looked up to see the dragon slowly rising to his feet. Tidus draws his katana and stands between them. "I know this is your fight but I won't let him kill you while your on the ground."
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

"Tidus?" Simels eyes were clowdy, he had no feeling except for weakness.  He was scared, more so than he had ever been before.

Shadow stands, wavering slightly, and clutches the hole in his cloak left from his fight with Renard. "Tidus, I can buy you time enough to get Simel somewhere safe... I can't help with his injuries, so at least let me give him some time..."
