Eyes full of rage, the little boy watched his older sister's life drain away. He watched as her eyes glazed, her body stiffened, and her hair lost its curls. The way he looked at things would never be the same... At the funeral; he was the last to say goodbye and the first to leave his sister in a good plot of land with her favorite view; she was above the cemetery and when she sat beneath the oak tree, she would be able to watch over the graves.
"Steven, honey, we need to head home now." His mother smiled at him as she led him away.
He struggled to stay, he wasn't ready to leave yet; he'd already left too many times before. A breeze caressed his cheek. Thinking it was his long deceased sister, he pulled his arm away from his mothers' grasp and raced back to the grave. Standing under the oak tree was a girl with brilliant green eyes, bouncing brown waves, full red lips, and pale skin. He ran into her awaiting arms; tears glistening in the corners of his eyes. Kissing his forehead, she smoothed his hair as she cooed gently.
"What happened to you? You were gone for so long....Mom forgets you're not living anymore." He buried his face inn her chest, listening to the almost non-existent beating of her heart.
"I know, I know. Mom just doesn't want to accept me for who I've become now. She'll come around though." I hope... Pausing to stroke his cheek, she sighed and hugged him tightly. "I've got some things to take care so I'll be looking out for you guys and experimenting with a c.r.a.p load different things. I need you to get me the items on that list here." She pointed to a sheet of paper nailed to the tree. "The sun's setting, I'll see you tomorrow. Try to get here earlier and tell mom she's forgiven." She looked cross as she let go of him.
"I promise. Love you sis." He kissed her cold lips and left.
Poor little kid... Her eyes dulled slightly as she breathed in the fading scents of the wild flowers, letting the quiet purr of the closed cemetery overrun her ears. She smiled to herself, opening her eyes to glance at the four people in front of her.
There was a boy about six eleven with blazing teal eyes, dressed in a dark cloak and light blue jeans. Another male was standing across from her. This one was wearing tight black jeans, a red shirt with 'I bite' across the front, lots of silver around his neck, and a pair of classic black-n-white converse. His brown eyes regarded her in a brotherly manner, soft. His long red hair had black streaks thrown in randomly. A girl with feathery blond hair, baby blue eyes, tan skin, and light pink lips smiled at her. She stood at about four six and was clothed in pale colors. A yellow tee, light blue jeans, and grey boots. The other person was wearing a long, emerald green cloak that hid their features from view. Only a pair of glowing red eyes could be seen from the dark depths of the hood.
"So, he's gone? Your brother and mother left?" A deep voice asked softly, coming in and out.
"Yes, Alec. They're gone. Now what are we going to do about all these kids ruining our graves, eh?" She demanded, staring him down.
"Why do you insist on guarding our graves over helping fight off those annoying humans?"
The control over her rage snapped. She leaped to her feet and her fangs extended, looking terrifying in the light. She drew her hand back, formed a fist, and punched him across the bottom of his jaw. The force of the punch sent him reeling backwards, swearing. Shock rolled across his face.
"HEY! That wasn't funny!" He snarled, recovering to leap, nipping at her face.
She sneered, biting back. They wrestled for a few minutes, snarling and hissing and biting viciously. Her teeth clicked shut a millimeter from his soft neck when she finally regained her senses. She tossed him off her stomach, brushed herself off, and stood up. The other three were snickering behind their hands at the tussle. She snarled, flicking her wrist irritatedly at them.
"If you ever say that about my family again, I'll kill you." She growled, throwing him a glare. If looks could kill, boy would he be dead.
"Yes, O Mighty Master." He barked, laughing in her face.
With an angry screech, she jumped at him again, burying her teeth in his tender neck. She drank a pint of blood and pulled back, yanking on his skin viciously. A loud tearing noise came from his body as the muscle and tissue fell away, exposing the bone beneath. She smiled, satisfied. After a minute or so of painful screaming, she licked the wound; stitching the muscles together and skin back together as he gasped appreciatively. She nodded her head to acknowledge his submission.
"I dare you to push me further, please." She challenged, still glaring at him.
"N-n-no Master..." Alec replied, hiding behind the only other male in the group.
He chuckled as he stepped aside for her to finish Alec off. "You deserve it. And if she wants to kill you, she has all the power to. Remember that."
Her fangs slid back into their sheaths and she grasped his shoulder; hauling him to her chest gently. As she stroked his hair, she murmured gently to him; hugging him tightly. "I'm sorry Alec." She rubbed his neck as he scratched her back.
"I love you..." He whispered.
She moved back, shock jumping across her face.
