Hi there,
As can be deduced from my username choice, I am a Douglas Adams fan, and though it has absolutely nothing to do with my affinity to anthropomorphic ... anythings, 'Turlingdrome' has always stuck to me as a ridiculously awesome word.
I'm a Dutch student in English, and am set to (if all goes well) become a certified teacher of the language in four years. Rest assured, my fluency rivals that of some native speakers, and I always take care to be respectful and courteous. Only when it's appropriate, of course.
Why furry forums? Well, I got in touch with the 'Fandom' following a growing affinity towards arts related to the subject, though I'll be the first to admit that I'm really still an enormous newbie when it comes to that, and I guess the thing that started it all off, excuse me for being cheezy and unoriginal, was Disney's 'Lion King'. It remains one of my favorite films of all time.
I'm not one for needlessly lengthy introductory posts, yet make myself a hypocrit merely by the wall of text above, so I have one more issue I'd like to see to:
My first encounter with the actual fandom would be the furryMUCK, and there I made a 'fursona' in the form of the ubiquitous grey wolf. I crave originality, or at least relevance, so I'd like to know what you guys base your fur-endowed alter-egos on, and whether there's a thread, website, or process one could visit or go through to determine which sort would 'fit me most'? This is also why I haven't filled out the profile details on that yet. Finally, I'm not much of an artist, but eventually it would be nice to have a graphical rendition of said fursona, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Hi!
