How did YOU become furry? =)

Lol I actually only realized I was a furry a few weeks ago.  I had always wondered why I loved any animated movie with animals in it.  I can't even count how many times I've seen alvin and the chipmunks or happy feet.  One day my friend told me he wanted to show me something funny so he took me to banned site and showed me all of the absurd forums that were up there.  when i got to the furry forum; however, I finally understood why I had such a passion to animals lol.

the TV show Weird True and Freaky, the episode called Humanimals, shown some humans who took their inner animals to the extreme, like Stalking Cat (cat man (the guy who has spent thousands in plastic surgery and tatoos to look like a tiger)), well anyway, number 2 were "Furries" and i was like, cool, theres many of these guys? So I googled it the next day, and within 3 days I knew all about the inner workings of Furry Fandom from Wolffeeddarkfang, to yiff, to the CSI episode. Now I am wanting to get a fursuit and go to anthrocon etc.

I used to put my dad's work ties in the back of my pants, pretending it was a tail and that I was a wolf when I was like 5 haha I need to find a pic of it.. *gigglesnort* Plus at school my friends and I would run around on our hands and knees pretending we were animals. Plus my imaginary friend/some character I made up was an anthro wolf with wings, and that was when I was like 7 and older lol
I guess I've been one ever since I could remember, even though I never knew what it was until about 3 years ago.

I've always loved foxes and when I was younger I always used to pretend to be animals that could talk
Then when I found out about furries in a magazine I knew i was one straight away, so then i created Jambles the fox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my story is very long, so I will shorten it drastically:

Me and some friends used to make up games that involved talking animals and Rping as them
I have always liked animated animals and animals in general
I found the 'darker side' a few years ago on newgrounds, thought it was very hot and started looking more into it. found out more about it and eventually joined furcadia about 3 years ago
now I'm here

well i had this friend, we both loved redwall and other such series, and one day he decided to be open about his furryness in our little group and i did some research and was interested immediately so i went up to him and essentially said "Ryan, teach me the way of the furry".

he looked so happy that i had asked that he asked me my favorite animal and i said fox, so he went home that night and made me a partial suit of a pair of jeans that had a fox tail (synthetic of course) and a hat/headband with ears that i still use today.  good times, good times....

I've been into Anthros since a young age. Obsessed with TMNT, Sonic, Bugs Bunny, Animaniacs, Looney Toons, Street Sharks. Really wasn't very into anything that DIDN'T feature Anthrofurs.

I started playing Furcadia in 2004, hencemore exposure to furrydom.

I don't remember when I first officially started considering myself furry.

Another influence I want to add, is Sonic the hedgehog and Pokemon. Anything cute and fuzzy I saw on TV or played on my game systems, got me truly interested in the furry side of myself. Sometimes when I'm bored, I still pretend to be Rouge from Sonic.
It just depends on my mood.

i guess i was always a furry i just didn't know it i always loved being animals playing little games with my friends i didn't know i was a furry until i came across a site about them and instantly i was interested i did everything i could i became Renjiki bluufurr the name and idea came from when i was a child there was this raccoon in our back yard that got into the trash the night my sister failed to die her hair blue well it got in the raccoons fur and i started calling him Renjiki the blue furred raccoon so when i became a furry i knew exactly who i was there was no doubt about it i was Renjiki Bluufurr of course my mother hates furs don't ask me why she just does so the day i came out and told everyone i was a furry well i got grounded yeah lame i know my mom thought i was doing it just to make her angry and on the side note i kind of was but i grew into my furry self and i am loving every minute of what i am and im dang proud to say that i am a furry.

I've been a furry for about 7 or 8 months, and I love it!  I found the fandom while looking for.... stuff.... on the 'net.  I was hooked!  I'd written stories about anthros for years before I found the fandom, and I loved the Redwall series.  So, yeah.  Here i am.

I was always interested in things like sonic, pokemon and such for a while. I got to the age of 14 and got a sudden desire to get tails plushies [currently have 4]. Then a while after that one of my friends showed me an animation that had anthros in it [nothing rude]. I liked it, and then he said he was a furry, i asked him what it was. He told me, and then i got the fabled 'click' in my mind, in realising that i am a furry also. I'm planning on getting a partial of my fursona, if i can get enough money

I think I've always been a furry. Just finding the Furry Fandom helped me feel more confident and discover more about what interests me. I've always been interested in physical transformation (I even remember back about 7 years ago, I made a story for English about DNA splicing and people turning into animals / gaining characteristics of those animals), and I found myself absolutely obsessed with Anthros in general playing Oblivion (my characters were always Argonians or Kahjit). Well, I can say DeviantArt partially found it for me through transformations... (woohoo, weres - also, nothing rude got me here)

I can't say I really know exactally when it dawned on me, but it took place over the last year, give or take. My whole life I have had a fascination bordering on awe with animals and nature, and I would often pretend to be one or another of them when I would play games as a child. Also, like many others, it seems, I was addicted to the Sonic games, with Tails and Knuckles being my favorites. I love cartoony anthro animals in general, for that matter, for whatever reason they strike a chord with me, and I feel like I can relate to them on some inner level. Gradually, this grew to be a part of who I am and just recently discovered that there is actually a community of people like me.
