I began my journey into my furry side back in 95, when I was 15, but my influences leading into it came from much earlier in life. I have always loved animals, and my mother always had pets. I loved watching cartoons, but even just as much loved watching nature documentaries. Wolves fascinated me the most, with not only how gorgeous they were, but how they lived, always in groups with a hierarchy, and the important roles of all of the members. I also had a love for fantasy and medieval things. I always went to the ren. faire that always followed the week after the Woodstock Fair on the same fairgrounds. Added to that was a fascination with the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt.
In 1995, I created my fursona, Robert Silvermyst. A young prince who enjoyed being among his people more than living a life of politics. As I built a story around him, I created a brother for him, Simon. I then began expanding and crafting a deep story around Robert, pulling influences from some of my favorite games, like Shining the Holy Ark, Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean and Ultima Online. In 1996, I found Furcadia. Robert was one of many characters I played as, but Robert Silvermyst was the one I stayed with while my other characters I either lost interest in or others had no interest in interacting with.
I began delving into MUCKs, forums, and eventually Second Life which is the more recent thing I've gotten into, though I rarely actually go out and about there. I've only recently started to get into furcons and furmeets, wanting to make new friends, though I'm a bit of a recluse with all of my school friends having left the state. While I am confident online and in roleplay, I'm quite withdrawn in real life and I'm trying to break out from that. Currently I'm working on a visual novel based loosely (very loosely in some regards) to my experiences as a soldier and adjusting to civilian life after leaving the service and leaving coming off of a deployment. It's a very slice-of-life with romance paths that delves into issues like post traumatic stress disorder, bi-polar, blindness, immigration, social conflicts and views over transgender and gay/bi folks, parental abuse, bullying and the like, yet will still be balanced and have some humor in it.
