How did YOU become furry? =)

of any reason i saw this " fursuits " on the net in a age of 14 something, and then read about them and understood it was furries that wear them...and that's my story.

well ive liked anthros my whole life, like when i saw Walt Disney's Robin Hood ( i thought robin hood was VERY attractive and yes im a guy , and i still do) then after being on youtube when i was 14 i came across furrys ( there were alot of attractive male anthro icons) so naturaly i got into it, learned about it and learned about yiff and unfortunately the "youtube trolls" and ive been furry ever since. Now i even draw furrys

i was surfing around on the web around the age of sixteen when i saw a link for this place called kimono island. it was by a Dr. Comet and it was an 18+ site  (i didnt know at the time) what i saw both shocked and amazed me. despite the mature nature of his art it was amazingly beautiful and i have been a furry ever since.

Anyways. xD Four years ago (Or a year after I joined, at least), I became a staff member. Apparently they wanted a twelve/thirteen-year-old to be a staffie. I was like, "JUST AS PLANNED."

Then someone screwed everyone over and now there's an age limit to be a staff member (fifteen)

A year after the unnamed staff member was booted off the team, and the contest he held was dead as dust, I took it up.

I have to make newsposts for that, and to do so you needed a static picture. I chose a plushie for mine.

A year after THAT, I asked for a staff plushie because, hey, I was a super mod, I made news posts, and people probably don't want to stare at a blue, outdated art of a toy fox.


I was obsessed with marsupials at the time (Still am), and described myself being lolemu. But I snazzed it up to my own tastes.

My friend/artist Gabs drew it for me, and we were all like, "Omg"

Then I stuck with the quoll in a hoodie (Lol pocket = pouch pun) but made her black with neon/rainbow spots, a tail tuft, and little detached bat wings (I adore fruit bats, as well)

I have to say that my "furriness" came about when I realized I was bisexual. My first true exposure though was through Looney Toons and Disney movies such as "The Great Mouse Detective," and "The Sword And The Stone." For those of you who watched the movies before they got censored and remade, you know what I am talking about. However my true awareness of the furry fandom is when I when I discovered the artwork around the age of thirteen. I saw the well toned and muscled out wolves and equine Adonises of the internet, not to mention the slender and seductive vixens and felines, and just fell for it all. I kept thinking, a what a world it would be if I could just have those ears and in the woods and under the sun all day with my pack.

I first became a furry about a year ago when i played starfox adventures on the gamecube and thought that Krystal was incredibly hot even though she was not a human, so i started searching on the net for more krystal pics and found furaffinity and that is how i became a furry!!!

Mashing my foot on the *Way Back* button,

I knew I always thought furries were attractive. 

One of my first cartoon crushes had to be Bunnie Rabbot, from sonic the hedgehog  I remember sitting literally GLUED to the television just to see if SHE would be on that weekends episode. Everything about her to me was just.....perfect.

As I got older and somehow came across FURNATION back in it's prime, I learned more about artists and the fandom. Then when VCL came around I was on that site every single day. After learning about the comic "Genus" I knew deep down, that I was a furry and always have been.

Ever since childhood I've always had all kinds of pets. And acting like them when I would play with them just seemed so NATURAL, and until furries came into my life, I never knew the reason why.

I'm so proud to be a furry.

I've been unsure for years, I've always  been into anthro art and characters as long as I can remember (the first was probably the Crash Bandicoot games).I've known what a furry is for a few years, but never considered myself one. Until recently when I started wearing a Tail, so I looked up a furry forum, signed up and now I can proudly say I'm a furry.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of watching old animated cartoons with animal stars. When I was little I used to pretend I was a dog or cat or a character in my cartoons(I love Disney, Don Bluth films and The Last Unicorn) and play with my friends. As I got older that sort of thing faded away, though I still love all those cartoons and collect plush animals, but I got into reading instead. I've been looking at the furry fandom for a few years on and off, until recently I was a bit put off and unsure. But here I am finally  Its just a bit weird because almost everyone else is some sort of mammal and I'm a bird. Plus I can't draw and all the artists are so talented

I remember way back when I was very young, my grandmother had a novelty raccoon tail (fake) that I would tie to my belt loops and run around with. Then I remember back when I was 12 or 13 when I stumbled across a mature sonic picture. I decided ultimately that it was hot, and devoted alot of time learning how to draw anthros, porn, and the like. It's now turned into a hobby as well as a lifestyle.

Where I live, there is a lot of forested area, and raccoons would always come into our garage looking for food. I thought they were nifty little things, so I began drawing them, and this is what ultimately got me into art, as well as the furry fandom. I can't say I've ever stumbled across something quite as interesting as ociago, but I started seeing other anthro artists online, and I thought that they were all so neat looking and creative.

I've always been a furry, I think... Always have had an affinity for anthro stuff since playing Sonic ( I was the one kid that would demand the 2nd Player Controller... GO TAILS. ) and running into Disney stuff. For a while I doodled anthro through 6th and 7th grade - but when 8th grade rolled around, EVERYBODY learned what a (Stereotypical) furry was, and I slid my little clipboard back into my desk. I honestly tried to forget that I liked furries so that I could fit in. I can't blame myself -  where I live, it's at the point where being a furry is more horrific to people than being gay. AAAANYWAYS, after consistently finding myself with friends watching videos of furries, and consistently having to hide my jealousy of those furries, I decided to find a decent forum and chill with people kinda like me. So, here I am - and it's time to let the good times roll.
