ive always felt a deep connection to dragons and have always loved them, when i wuz little i actually pretended to be one
so one day bout 3 years ago a friend asked me if i wuz a furry because of my obession with dragons, i didnt kno wut a furry wuz back then so i looked it up online AND BINGO i luckly found out wut a furry wuz from the right person on a forum and so here i am today a proud furry.
but i believe ive always been a furry

I stumbled upon the naughty side of the artwork years ago. First thought:
“Woah, hang on a minute here… this stuff isn’t right.” And didn’t touch it for the next year or so. At the time I didn’t know about all the clean artwork, the community and the cons, I just knew there was porn of it.
But over the next year random things just kept on pointing back to it… not the nudity, just the characters and concept of furries.
Looking back now, there were other things pointing towards furries before I stumbled upon it. That infamous CSI episode was one (luckily at that age I was more interested in the Gameboy in my hands as oppose to what was on the TV, but what I did overhear was that a bunch of people liked human-ish animals and one of them was killed).
So, all these things pointing towards the fandom caused me to hit Google with it. I knew to ignore all the rubbish small websites with Y IN HELL all over them because those people are obviously very subjective on the point. I wanted an objective view.
With Wiki hitting it’s peak in popularity back then I searched there and I found what I wanted to know… that the fandom are not all sexually frustrated perverts. (If I knew how unreliable Wiki can be sometimes back then I may not have been so believing. )
So more hunting and I found clean artwork sites and communities and more…
But I definitely wouldn’t say I’ve always been a furry. I’m just love the artwork, reading the RPs and interested in what life would be like if everyone had tails, muzzles and massive ears on the top of their heads (strange, I know ).
And I’ve recently stumbled upon BBF’s con video archive and haven’t stopped watching them… really wanna go to ConFuzzled, it’s only an hour in the car away! Unlikely I get to go this year though.

I honestly thought Tails from Sonic, was cute, no homo. I was like five or six and just loved watching Sonic, just for Tails. Though being a loner and shy from birth I hadn't told many. I had always loved animals and found more of a connection with them rather than humans, because it seemed most places I'd go animals would enjoy me as much as I enjoyed them. Through the years I never even heard of the word "Furry". I had stumbled across some "explicit" sites and thought "Interesting..." I delved into it more and searched for what they were called. My first time I wound up reading about Beastiality. I was like "Not it!" Later I found out what it REALLY was and decided "That's me..." Though I never displayed myself as a furry, it was a secret interest of mine. I never really told anyone I was a furry until they kinda found out...It was on an RP communities forum from Garry's mod. Known now as "RoleNation" I was discovered to be a furry. Noone despised me like I had feared.

Hummm... a lot of things let up to this *takes deep breath* I always loved animals but never got into all the sonic stuff as some others I was a dino dude and I liked foxes, wolfs and bats. I was the kid that in second grade would be watching discovery Chanel while every one else is watching the magic school bus. I wasn't rely much of a loner but as I got older I gradually submerged my anger issues and loaned off. Then I started to read and Analise the way humans are and I can't stand how some people are so I like to study animals. Then about 3 or 4 years ago I was looking through the internet for nothing in particular and I came across a furry story site that was about gay furrys and what not and it kind of helped me come in turms with my self in that way and then I had a curiosity and kinda of wanted to see what all this "furry" no sense was about and I found some not so clean stuff with the y and then I grew to love anthro/furry art and not just for any y I liked the art and then I came in terms with myself that I was a furry and never thought twice about it being wrong or any thing (so are you. Allowed to say the y word?)

well ive always loved foxes. i always wanted on as a pet. then i started rping and i started as a cat anthro then i found gaia.com the use of avatar dress up merged my cat anthro fox fondness into a curiosity toward the furry world. i started as a fur friend until i set myself to my species. i dont go out in public wearing anything particular i normally go out looking like my ordinary self.

I became a furry by my brother was one so he sort of introduced it to me and my favorite animal is the snow tiger! so my bro told me all about the furry forums and I fell in love with it. I consider myself a nerd and a geek and NO DISRESPECT TO OTHER FURRIES i've found that furries tend to be kind of socially awkward like me. Anyway, back on my post!!! (I got distracted ) I found that I'm not someone who's wanted to be a furry for a long time but when I found out about them I wanted to be a furry! So I'm not super original, I'm kind of a wannabe. Tee-hee! Anyway I love being a furry and I like having a forum with other people who understand that liking furries is okay!!!

Nobody is a furry wannabe, it's either you are one or not.

It doesn't really matter when you became one, as long as you believe and support the fact that you are part of the fandom, then your in. It doesn't matter if you like yiff, regular anthro art, anthro RP, whatever it may be, your still a furry. Everyone accepts you into the community with a smile, as do I.

I like having a forum with other people who understand that liking furries is okay!!! 

Of course it is a lot of people dont think that unfortunately and I really can't understand why.
A few days ago a friend of mine said furries were the evilest thing he could think of and I felt kinda sad, I didn't say anything though, maybe i should have.

I kind of drifted into furriness if that makes sense, I love nature and furry artwork but it's hard to tell people that without them immediately thinking of all the *ahem* adult images.
