I can't remember exactly how I became furry, since I remember I always loved anthro, I recall when I was a kid I used to play with clay figures of digimons and stuff like that.

I think I entered the fandom by the Jab Archives (I'm not very proud of that :umm:), there I saw a link to the Jack Webcomic (that is a very good but gorey comic)  and became a member of their forums. I disappeared for some time 'cause my personal life, a few weeks ago I decided to try again that forum but it wasn't the same so I decided to start again and here I am. Happy times! =3

Well I suppose it started when I watched my brother play sonic when I was 1-2, then actually playing the games when I was 4. I've always been drawn to most cartoons with anthros, I have plush animals that were completely real to me. I love pokemon and digimon. I wished that I was a cat from age 4-10 for my bday. I eventually figured out it would never truely happen.  :'( I had a fursona at around age 12 on a forum before I knew what a fursona was. I eventually abandoned the idea of furry for about 6yrs and am now back, with some thing truer to my nature. A squirrel, many have calle me that before having the fursona and it just fit so well. I may change, Im not sure if I am squirrel or rat.

well, it was sometime last year. I waas talking to a furry on RPGN, we got talking about his avatar ... and after a few days ... i realised i was a furry

but i've actually had a fursona before i became a furry ... well my fursona was my character in my fan-ficts that i was writting, but never finished


And i have to say ... being a Furry has made me a better person, i now care for animals & i'm more open-minded!

With 955 characters for a signature, I can try make something funny or interesting but no, I'm just gonna sit here and type instead of going to work because breaking the fourth wall is more humour than trying to figure out how I'll get access to my other laptop; picking up my charger that I left at a friends house, around 40 miles away...

Good going Sparky, you did well. On the plus side, it's given you a chance to accidentally revisit some old stomping grounds and see what madness you can create during this seemingly temporarily return.

i became a furry when i was 12 years old...my family owns a lot of animals and i always loved them...i was on the internet one day just looking at pics of wolves for my desktop background and i seen a anthro pic of a wolf furry... i was interested in the pic so i started to drawl them even know im not good at it i made a anthro wolf as me...and i liked it so much i found myself wishing it could come true...so i looked in to the word anthro and found that it was furry so said that is so me dude ^^ and that is how a became a furry yay

Well I was very young as well (Probably since I was born), and My family was very big on the Disney world and as most of you know the most famous disney character is Mickey Mouse. I really enjoyed the idea of a walking/talking animal. I've always been a big animal person as well, especially wolves and from there I was searching on the internet and came across an anthro picture which gave me a better term to search for.

After that I started doing research and found the playful name "Furry".  And from there here I am now! Proud furry for all 17 years of my life, serious furry since I was 11.  :D

I guess I've been a furry since I was really young.  Cartoons with anthropomorphic characters were a dime-a-dozen and it was just natural to think in anthro terms.  I never really had anyone to play with when I was a kid, excepting two busty blonde girls who lived next door.  They liked to play Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Sonic the Hedgehog.  Needless to say I've never been the same since.  ^^;  Though my parents don't know, I hope to one day tell them.  For the time being though they think I'm just a bit reclusive.  That's okay though.  They shall one day see my fox persona...if I ever get around to it.

My brother just thinks of it as an odd quirk.  I think he'd understand.  But my dad is a different story.  How do you tell the man who raised you and who thinks that, despite your apolitical and areligious attitude, you are still an American nineteen year old who is attracted to busty women leaning over cars of popular design that you are in fact a person who likes to visualize and act out his thoughts as a fox-like humanoid?  Doesn't sound good on paper OR spoken word.  ^^;

its very hard to explain...i have tryed to find an easy way to tell some1 but haven't been able to

*nod*  That seems like a good idea to me.  I'll let my dad find out when I'm good and ready.  I'm really not too worried though.  If they find out, they find out.  I will just come clean if that happens.  I have no shame about being a furry.  I just don't want them to feel like I'm trying to strike out and be rebellious.  I'm a furry because it makes me happy.  For the longest time I thought I was alone when it came to feeling like this, it's good to see that I'm certainly not alone.
