How did YOU become furry? =)

Personally, I think "evil" and "good" are determined by one's morals, and that a mixture of both is in nature as a whole, not just restricted to human beings - I'm assuming that it's mainly that humans are on a much higher level of intelligence and social understanding than any other organism on the planet (although I can't really back that up, but yeah, two assumtpions in one) that some people think about it that way.

But given the choice on everything about me, I guess I'd rather be more... "biologically animalistic" as opposed to "human", which is why I'm a furry. Part of this is because I'd rather be different in general too, because personally, being the same for so many years makes me think "I'm bored", which is why I'm a fan of transformation. I also believe that subconcious desires eventually release themselves and "expose" your true personality, which leads to some of the things I do that seem more like an animal's behaviour, to not only me but everyone.

About 3 years ago a friend of mine mentioned that he was a furry. So, I got curious and started looking it up. Of course that only led me to the dirty side of furries. Then 3 days ago I was just looking at various furry artworks  and ended up looking to see if there were any forums. And found the kind, tight-knit community of furtopia.com. Then after reading a few posts I joined Furtopia. Then after reading yet even more posts I realized "Hey, I'm very similar to these people". I was a giant fan of the StarFox Series back when it was on the SNES and N64. I always had a thing for shows that had anthro protagonists, and books.
It wasn't until I found Newgrounds did I know that there were other people like me, and Now i am publicly (read on the internet) a furry.

I think it all started when i saw someone on a videogame forum having a furry picture as his avatar (which i thought was kinda cool hehe) Later on i found out what a furry was and i started researching about furies for a few days and found out about the furry fandom

Oh my heck, Redwall ALL THE WAY!  I would always role-play my own Redwall Abbey adventures with my friends hahaha, it was great fun!  =D  I totally forgot about those too!  The first one I ever read was Marlfox.  That got me hooked on the series.  I've read Martin the Warrior at least 20 times, and I think I'm gonna read it again!     *picks up the book and starts reading*

I read the Warriors series and roleplayed them LONG before I knew about furries at all... Those books were amazing before they came out with the newer ones.

Probably the first Anthro show I saw I loved. Street Sharks in 1994 got me hooked and so that's probably when it began.

This is kind of an odd thing for me to think about...  I guess I realized I was furry when I found the dirty side of furryism, but I guess I developed it from my natural love of animals and well like a lot of people on here, playing video games like crash, sonic, but I think the bigger one would be bloody roar, which for those of you that don't know, is a fighting game which has humans that can turn into animals, anthromorphic animals to be more specific.  So I guess that's how I became a furry.

to be honest I've always had the fascination from the artworks I've seen in various places and websites. The more I studied the muscles the skeletal system of these animals shaped and standing like humans it has always fascinated me. I've always wondered is being human it? is this our peak? no I said there must be something better, hopefully someday a nut will figure out how to biologically engineer our dreams and make them a reality. But that's me being a crazy nut myself. Another thing that contributed to it was I love RAVE and I was watching videos that consisted of anthro's raving with glowsticks and partying, which pretty much sold the deal lol

Starting from the age of seven I got a craving for meat and would howl at the moon when I fought nobody could hear... Yes that's actually true it's not role-play

I don't howl at the moon persay, although I do have a fascination of staring at it for hours losing track of time. just staring at it makes me think a lot about life and stuffs

For me, I grew up on animated movies (My parents didn't want me to have a "bad start.") Everything was expected for me to just kinda learn the morals and lessons, but I took in more than that. Don Bluth movies definitely changed me. (All Dogs Go To Heaven, Secret Of Nimh, An American Tail...) and definitely the other goods like Fox and the Hound, Balto, We're Back, etc... Also, we moved to Korea when I was young and they had like 50 kids channels. o_O So I crammed on looney tunes and such. I didn't really know about furries back then, of course. I just always thought that animated movies were amazing. That hand-in-hand with epic movies like LotR and Harry Potter sparked my interest in cinematography, then wa-bam. I found a bunch of friends who had the same interest in those epic titles, and some animated classics, so we RP all the time - adventuring in woods, referring to each other by "name," (Mine is Dyle,) and just doing stuff like that. Then, I learned about furries slowly after making TheNepEcChannel, through a bunch of videos of people in some costumes. At first I was intimidated, but found out about the affectionate loving side everyone got to show at these meetings, and fell in love myself. So really, taking it a step at a time, my goal is to become known on YouTube as the cool variety vlogger-furry-dude-man-person. That made me think of a cool word... "furson"...

I loved animals and especally wearwolves, i used to play games with friends where we pretended to be animals, then i started wishing i was one, eventually i met someone who drew anthro art and that got me into the dirty side of furry's (you know it, it starts with a Y ) and eventually that lead me to forums like this and i finally accepted it and identified as a furry.

The wishing to be a werewolf thing is something I can relate to but apart from that I just really like raw meat... and howling at the moon...
