anyway on topic: another way i new that i was a furry was because i always have had a connection to foxes, for example at the age of 7 they terrified me until i saw a fox corpse  . This made me think...in retrospect we are all gonna die sometime so why be scared when you can devote your life to making other lives better. then at age 10 i discovered silver foxes and wanted to get one but was denied by a sudden price raise due to the recession (prbbly why i hate politics). now at age 13 im a furry, am passionate about animal rights and one day want to get a silver fox, as this has become my dream

My reasons for being a furry involve refusing to die!
I draw hope and strength from furries as a reminder to keep promises that i made.
Believing that death is inevitable doesn't offer hope for anything, I can understand the reasoning in that doing what makes you happy in the time you get is important, I just don't like to here people who take hope away and leave only death behind.

Well, you're certainly not a chicken for being who you really are.    I've always gotten a lot of flack for being me (not following the main stream) and I really, really don't care what other people think!!!     I am who I am and proud of it!

I've always loved the abnormal and things that weren't really apart of the social standard. For instance, I'm a socialist and I'm called a red or a commie at school. But my friend got me into furry when she showed me some of her artwork. Then I found some fur webcomics and that set it straight forward. I'm also watch over (you can't own an animal) a dog which got me into pbeing apart of the ASPCA and some animal rescues.

I know how im becoming more Scalie, I am going to make a Scalie outfit myself from scratch, I will make each scale individually and sow them together, alot of work but it will be worth it, Im going to make my 7th form, an argonian, it is going to be awesome!

How did I become Furry...

I noticed at a young age that I felt a sort of emotional connection when watching movies that involved anthropomorphic animals such as the Disney flicks.  I felt as though I could really feel the emotions they showed more so than when I watched human actors.  This actually prompt me to ask my younger brother if he felt the same, you know, just to see if it was common.  He told me that he didnt really feel a difference if anything at all.  Then again we were like 6-7 age group.  Time past I guess and I kinda just grew accustomed to me having a more emotional connection with talking animals and began to watch more movies with them in it when they came out and playing videogames centered around anthro characters like Star Fox, and Spyro.  I just thought it was my personal taste. 
I drew many pictures and made tons of character designs involving anthro features.  To the point that later in my life, around the age of 17 my friends began to take it as the normal for me to draw that stuff.  I became a Yoshi fan, feeling that my inner optimism and youthful personality was presented through Yoshi.  So I began to draw him a lot too.  I was given the nickname Yoshi since my friends took notice in my sudden fandom.  Being a videogamer I played as Yoshi in Brawl and found out I was a furry while browsing a forum dedicated to Brawl.
I saw the word "Furry" as a description for people who like to play as Fox who I also played as.  I knew I had heard the word before but could only conjure up images of fursuits so I looked up the word on the internet.  Found bunch of stuff, but was directed to Wikipedia by another Furry who felt it had the best simple description.  Feeling that the description matched me surprisingly closely I began to look around more and found out that I was a Furry myself.  Now I've known for around eight months, so I'm still new but I have really taken a liking to it, though not much a fan of the adult stuff.  Watching videos of conventions, and drawing my own Furry art.  Hoping to one day go to a few conventions, maybe get a fursuit since that looks like fun.

I've always liked the "Talking Animal" movies as a kid. Everything was animals this, and animals that.
My mom was always, "She's going to work with animals when she grows up."

I was also a big Yoshi/Mario Bros. Fan as a kid, so I wondered onto the interbutts and found a artist on DA that I really liked so I got into drawing. Said person drew not only Yoshi's but anthros, so it was sort of cool.

Then one thing happiend: Oekaki
When I started to get older I joined Oekaki (Online Drawing Boards for those who don't know) since I was old enough, and started talking and drawing with other users.
They all created fursonas, and me not knowing what a fursona was created one for myself. I picked a werewolf, because at the time I was going though some changes with my PCOS condition, and thought a werewolf changing against it will was a perfect metaphor for that.

So I joined DA, many other oekakis, and pretty much skirted on the outside of the fandom.
Then I discovered there WAS A WHOLE FANDOM based on this stuff from a few artists on DA.
I also heard many bad things about it, so I was a closest furry until recently.
