6/23/2011 is the date I discovered that I am a furry fan. The manner with which i discovered this is... interesting. Parhaps the largest way i discovered it was that i read an article about fur-ism in the 2008 Guinnes Book of World Records where an article inside mentioned the furries. I was intreagued with what i saw. I have always loved animals, Wolves especially, and cartoons my whole life. When ever I saw a film with which the caracters were furry in appearence, Surf's Up and Alpha and Omega for example, I always fealt a strange attraction to it. It was like something inside of me was pulling me towards those films. I would dream of them in my sleep and think of them constantly untill I would buy them and watch them continually. It wasn't untill 6/23/11 that I discovered why I felt this way. All the while it was the furry-ism inside of me tring to get out. It's been over a month for me and I have never fealt so happy and comfortable. I am furry!

I've always been interested in anthros, ever since watching the old 90's cartoons like Angry Beavers, Ren & Stimpy, and Rocko's Modern Life. Once I found out there was a fandom surrounding athropomorphics, I read up more on it. Sure we have this stigma attached to us, but if you learn to not feed the trolls you'll be fine. So that's how I became a furry.

I have always loved animals, especially horses, since I was little. I always pretended I was either a horse or a wolf at recess in elementary school, and it's grown from there. I didn't know about furry fandom until about 4 years ago, but when I was around the ages of 10-16 I played online forum based role play games where I was a horse. I had several characters, and was very sad when my favorite site got shut down. It sent me into such a fury that I quit RPing all together. I haven't been able to find a site like it again.

Overall I realized that it was okay to feel the way I feel and do the things I do. Like relate to animals more than people, and especially think the way that I think. So I guess I could say I've been a furry all my life, but just didn't know it had a name until a few years ago.

Sounds exactly like myself. I had a passion for real life roleplaying as animals and my own animal characters that I became familiar with all through elementary, and drawing them ever since, and my best friends were animals, not people, because I felt a more personal connection with them. But I never heard of the furry fandom until I was 16 or somewhere in there, and then it all came together.

Stumbling about the internet, I found some fan characters and some comics of anthros from cartoons like sonic and the like. On one of the comic sites I was on, one of the artists had a furry comic, which I got into quite quickly. I soon found out this site had a forum and ended up on it. It had some fanfic which I started reading, especially that around this furry comic. I started to comment on some of them, and soon started my own (Dead) fanfic. I got into the RP on the site, and got to know a bunch of furs on the site. I think that about sums it up

Since then, around two years ago, I have started attending meets, covered my room in furry artwork (Unfortunately not done by me ) and started wearing ears and as of about two weeks ago, a tail, almost every time I'm out of the house.
