Thomas finally reached his common room.  The prefect said, "Contortis."  The portrait opened..
"Neat."  Thomas commented.

Later..

Thomas walked down the stairs and into the common room.. He scraped his wand against the ground and held it high, "Lumos!" Thomas said in a hushed tone.  He walked to the portrait, pushed it open and wandered down the stairs...
