thanks, sorry if i make you sound like a sad sap (if thats the way u see it)
****2 weeks later****
ghost's eye lids, slid back, letting the artifical light from a fluresent light enter her mechanical eye. she blinked, and looked around, turning her head to the right, she heard the grindy sound of about 100 cervos grinding togeather. her mind was a bit foggy after weeks, hidden from the pain that had surounded her concious mind 2 weeks prior.
she let her eyes roam around the sparse room, till they lit on a familar face "jake?" she asked almost a croak. to her friend
jake looked sadly at his friend "yes it's me trish" he said, using her first name, before she was a bear, and falcon, and now this
trish looked at jake "whats going on man, are you ok" she asked, her voice raw and rough, but she didn't take notice, she wasn't taking notice of anything
jake started to get choaked up, his throat starting to close in the raw unbridled power of his emotions
"jake?" trish asked worridly starting to get up. but she paused about half way up. not of her own accord, she looked down at the chains wrapped around her mechanicle wrists. she looked at the chains dumbly, her mind felt like it was moving through old soy on a hot day. after a few minutes of thinking, her eyes slid down to the rest of her body. she took in her body, all cyber replaced now.
"cyber torso, crainum, leg, leg, full arm and full arm, complete with cyber hands" gett said walking in, wolfy following him, his eyes were wet, he stood next to jake, he was crying silently.
trish continued to stare dumbly at her body, not an inch of skin showing anymore.
gett walked over and sat at the lone stool near her head, he patted her head, like she was still the little kid that had always tagged along with her older brother and his friends. "you had an accident" he said starting "it was supposed to be a simple job" he started
trish's eyes widened as that day came rushing back to her in great detail, as gett spoke more came back to her. she closed her eyes when he came to the part with the semi "please, no more" she said holding back tears that would have fallen, if she had tears.
wolfy looked like he was about to say something, but was silenced by gett with a look. they had done the best they could, they had to sell almost everything to save her, they had tried to save money so the operation would be more suscessful, but there wasn't much to do, a single forearm costed upward of 8,000 nuyen. for an ovbious forearm it was 8,000. a synthetic one was 16,000.
after a few miutes trish calmed down, and gett continued the story. leaving nothing out. after the story was done, jake and wolfy had moved closer to there little friend. each of them wishing with all there mite that ghost couls hear and understand them, she wasn't living anymore.
she was a cyber zombie, they had no way of knowing if she was herself or not, they had spent every nuyen that had to get her this far, but theystill didn't know it was enough. as much as gett and jake hated to admit it, to themselves and anybody else, they thought ghost was gone, they had wanted to let her go, the easy way, instead of binding her sole to her body.
if it wasn't for wolfy being as stubborn as he was, trish probably wouldn't even be in that room with them. he knew she would pull through, she just had to.
"trish" wolfy said gently walking up next to her "do you remember me" he asked
trish's eyes grew dark, her face was shadowed. wolfy lowered his head, she's gone... she's gone...
trish reached up and pushed the foxes head up so she could look him in the eye. "like i could forget my friend, that i've known all my life" she said, shakily and rough. but it was there. her sole was there, it was there. she was there with them
wolfy's eyes started to water, he reached down, and uncliped the chains and hugged trish. openly sobbing now. "we thought we lost you" he cryed, as gett and jake came up and joined in, they were also crying. trish started when she saw wolfy crying, he always tried to act cool calm and collected, but he was as soft as any sole who had no parents, and had almost lost a family mamber.
"i thought i lost you too" she said dry sobbing she felt safe and warm for the first time in weeks, in the arms of her family, this was where she belonged.
