Alright, I've decided to finally push my writing ability into starting an RP.
The premise:
1. History
- It's roughly 100-200 years in the future from our own time, and the furry race has actually sprung up over time through genetic alterations or whatever the heck the scientists did to humans. As they spread, by now they're their own complete society and race, and are *attempting* to coexist with the humans. Humans, as with most fur plots, aren't as nice.
However, about 2 years prior to this RP, for the first time ever Humanity declared war on another race. A draft was ensued on both sides, and furs and humans alike were pulled from their homes to fight in the war.
Nukes have been long banned and destroyed (Thank goodness) but more powerful weapons of front-line combat have been invented. The battle is heavily one-sided with the Humans well outnumbering the furs, as well as having more resources.
- The RP
The outcome of the war and the changes in power are irrelevant, as this RP will take place on the front lines of war, rather than behind a desk. Which means a good portion of characters in this RP will have been taken out of their homes (willingly or not) to fight against the Humans.
Which means, YES, Human characters are totally allowed. Though it's not likely a POW human will be treated very well, and a defect would most likely be turned away. Keep that in mind if you want to RP a human on the furry side. But Humans against Furries is allowed, and I plan to RP with a few characters.
Because the draft is indiscriminate, any furry that is capable of battle, can battle. Which means even if your fursona (As I am doing) or character doesn't approve the war, they won't have a choice. I hope to get some conflicting personalities or ideas about the war and characters that will lead to some nice character development.
It starts out in what used to be New Mexico, where a small group of furries are pinned down in the desert. A rescue team is sent after them to extract them, which (if you don't want to intertwine your history with other characters) gives you a chance to RP first encounters.
- Technology
Conventional weapons are replaced with computer-guided explosives, and Laser weapons. The lasers are very precise and explosive, and often require charging, but are horribly efficient. Battle armor is eaten through like butter, so even heavily armored furs are vulnerable, which has the war preference the lighter, faster, smarter fur that can strike and escape before attacked. (Also, think beam, not plasma) Which leads to a very dangerous battle zone. Though the heavier fur is greatly appreciated in battle as well.
Vehicles haven't improved much, but basically any semi-advanced aircraft or hovercraft is acceptable.
Any other technology that's mildly advanced or based off this world's time's is fine.
- Characters
Post your characters here first, when I see a sufficient response, I'll go ahead and make the topic.
Name: (Duh)
Draft Number: (A 6-digit number to identify your soldier)
Species: (Duher)
Gender: (Duhest)
Appearance: (Both color and clothing. Army wear varies depending on environment, but usually is a light green.)
Prefered style of direct combat:
Role In Squad: (Medic? Gunman? Tactician? A one-word job description for what your Fur is best at. Try to keep it varied so we don't have a group full of grenadiers or something like that.)
Personality: (What the character is like, explain their position on the war and humans, as well as other furries)
History: (Describe your character's background, their relations, how they ended up where they are, if they were just drafted or have been fighting the whole 2 years, etc.)
NOTE: AGE IS IRRELEVANT. Some furs were meant to live longer than others, and some develop faster. A 6-year old fur could be as developed as a 21-year old human, or 34-year-old fur.
Here would be mine, for example (and usage!)
Name: Nikolai King
Draft Number: 668643
Species: Squirrel
Gender: Male
Appearance: Bright red, with white on his face and belly. Bright blue eyes and a mild expression. Has been forced to give up his signature black coat in favor of a kevlar jacket.
Prefered style of direct combat: Away from the main action, but close enough to hurt and heal.
Role In Squad: Medic
Personality: He's usually somewhat reserved, but always the first one to help someone if they need it. He'll listen quietly, and put in words of wisdom when he can, and does what he can to help those around him. However, he can also be very cruel if he becomes disturbed or bothered by something, though he's learned to control himself. He hates to see pain, but knows what he has to do. His position of the war is against, but knows it's a necessary evil if the furs are to gain independence from their human 'creator's.
History: He left a love one back home when he was drafted, and has served for a year since, with no word of her. It is suspected that she was sent into the draft as well, but he hasn't heard anything concrete. Before the war he planned to teach philosophy and debate at a local furry school, but was called away before he could land the job, having to give up his goals for the war. He doesn't like it, but he's doing it proudly, and it shows. He has a basic medical training, and when drafted was forced to expand upon it to fit him in the position chosen for him, as a medic. He's helped on a few specialized squads, and recently became the last survivor of his original squad he was assigned to.
